Mutated Events happen pretty often in Fallout 76. Depending on Bethesda's calendar, players can expect to have at least one week of Mutated Events every few weeks. Mutated Events are great for players who want to earn more XP and better rewards for completing events.

Fallout 76: A Guide To The Wasteland Lottery

If you're wanting to get your hands on some of the rarest items in Fallout 76, look no further than the Wasteland Lottery.

These events are very popular. More often than not, the majority of players on any given server will join the event. Every time the player completes a Mutated Event, they will receive a mutated package. When opened, a mutated package contains a whole slew of extra rewards. This includes legendary pieces, aid items, ammo, and more.

Completing Mutated Events

Mutated Event Details

During a Mutated Events week, players can expect to see one Mutated Event pop up on the hour every hour. Similar to Daily Ops, enemies in Mutated Events will have some sort of mutation that makes them more powerful or harder to deal with. The possible mutations that enemies can have are shown in the list below:

  • Camouflaged: Enemies Are Cloaked When Not Attacking
  • Resilient: Enemies Can Only Be Killed By A Melee Attack
  • Reflective: Enemies Periodically Reflect Damage Back Onto Players
  • Regenerating: Enemies Heal Nearby Enemies
  • Freezing: Enemy Attacks Freeze Players, Slowing Them Down
  • Toxic: Enemies Produce A Toxic Cloud When Killed
  • Swift: Enemies Move Much Faster
  • Volatile: Enemies Explode When Killed

All enemies will have one of the effects listed above during a Mutated Event. It's possible to see what effect the enemies will have by reading the information on the Public Event icon on the map. As for the events themselves, aside from the enemies being mutated, the events remain the same. The Mutated Events can be seen below:

  • One Violent Night
  • Line In The Sand
  • Test Your Metal
  • Heart Of The Swamp
  • Lode Baring
  • Guided Meditation
  • Eviction Notice
  • Moonshine Jamboree
  • Swarm Of Suitors
  • Uranium Fever

The Two Types Of Reward Packages

Mutated Party Package

When you complete a Mutated Event, you will either receive a Mutated Package or a Mutated Party Pack. Mutated Party Packs have better rewards. These are given out if at least 3 Fallout 1st members take part in the event. While there isn't really a way of telling which players are Fallout 1st subscribers, there tends to be at least a couple that show up to these events.

Mutated Party Packs contain 20% more consumables and 25% more crafting components than a standard Mutated Package. A Mutated Party Pack also has a much higher chance of awarding players a second legendary item, plan, or serum.

Both package types contain the same reward pools. You just get quite a bit more from a Mutated Party Pack than you do from a Mutated Package. Some notable rewards include:

  • A Random 3-Star Legendary Item
  • Rare Plans
  • Unique Named Weapons
  • Aid Items
  • Contextual Ammo

In the future, it looks like there will also be a chance for players to receive a piece of rare apparel from these packages. This new addition is live on the Public Test Server. While things on the PTS are subject to change, players could expect to see some rare items being added to the loot pool during the games' next update.
