Atlantic City is the second Expedition, a game mode that allows you to travel outside Appalachia, released by Bethesda for Fallout 76. Two updates, Boardwalk Paradise and America's Playground, have been released so far, and a third, called Skyline Valley, will be released in June 2024. Once inside Atlantic City, you can complete Expedition, Side, and Main quests for the three big factions who call the fun gambling mecca home. However, knowing how to get to Atlantic City can be confusing or locked behind a quest in specific scenarios if you've never done an expedition before. Here's how to get to Atlantic City in Fallout 76, and what to do if you can't.

On your map, you will find an icon of a Vertibird next to one of the above buttons. Click the button to open the Expedition menu, where you can choose from various locations, such as The Pitt or Atlantic City. Once you have picked Atlantic City, you'll be given the choice of which district you want to go to. This is handy if you need to finish the content from the first Atlantic City expedition update before traveling to America's Playground.

If you can't use the Expedition menu on your map screen, you will likely need to complete the Responders Reborn quest first. This quest introduces expeditions, and must be completed before the Vertibird can be used to leave Appalachia. You can start the quest chain by speaking with Orlando at the Whitespring Refuge. To find Orlando's office:

  1. Turn right after entering the Whitespring Refuge through the main entrance.
  2. From there, keep heading straight until you read a room with a pool table.
  3. Turn right and proceed down the hallway until you see a sign on your left-hand side that says "Management." You will find Orlando sitting in a chair in one of these rooms.

Once started, here's how to complete the Responders Reborn quest in Fallout 76:

  1. Go to the Whitespring Refuge.
  2. Speak to Orlando.
  3. Complete the Code Blue, Mutual Aid, and Receipt for Success quests.
  4. Speak with Skippy Roerich.
  5. Speak to Lennox.

After completing the above steps, you will have powered up the Vertibird and can use the shortcut on your map screen to travel to any of the Expeditions in Fallout 76.
