If you're new to Fallout 76, the Appalachian Wasteland can be unforgiving. There's more emphasis on survival mechanics than ever before in the franchise, with your vault dweller having a hunger and thirst meter that needs to be managed while you explore the wastes.

Thankfully, there are all sorts of food and drinks you can make to stay on the top of your game. Ribeye steaks are one of the first recipes that the game teaches you, and you'll need to make some to complete an early quest and the occasional daily challenges. Where To Get Wood In Fallout 76

The Gilman Lumber Mill map in Fallout 76

You will need to collect wood if you want to do any cooking in the wasteland, and it can be obtained by scrapping certain junk items. Wood scraps can be found from wood sources all around the map.

The Gilman Lumber Mill is directly south of Vault 76 and has more than enough wood piles and logs for you to scavenge. Sylvie & Sons Logging Camp, Cranberry Bog, and Helvetia are also good sources of wood. To make one Ribeye Steak, you will need x1 Wood.

Where To Find Brahmin In Fallout 76

Brahmin are the mutated versions of cows that have appeared throughout Fallout franchise. They are essentially just cows with two heads instead of one.

You can also milk them in Fallout 76 if you are in need of something to drink, and they almost never attack and will typically flee if combat happens around them.

Four can be found in the town of Flatwoods, which is where the cooking quest will take you. Three can also be found at The Wayward bar to the south of Vault 76. You will have to kill these creatures to get some Brahmin meat, and they will usually drop two pieces of meat along with their hides. To make one Ribeye Steak, you will need x1 Brahmin meat.

How To Cook Ribeye Steak In Fallout 76

All your meals in Fallout 76 must be prepared at cooking stations. There are many spread across the map, but those currently dealing with the Brahmin in Flatwoods will likely prefer to use the one right there.

Press X/A on the cooking station to begin crafting. Then, click on the meat section and find the Ribeye Steak. Confirm your selection and reap your rewards.

Ribeye Steak is very useful as it temporarily increases your carry weight, but players must make sure to eat it before it goes bad in their inventory.
