While completing 'The Order of the Tadpole' quest in Fallout 76, you'll need to earn Tadpole Badges to complete the quest. One of the badge categories is Herpetologist, which is the field of studying reptiles and amphibians. One of the badges in the Herpetologist category requires you to build a frog habitat in a Workshop or C.A.M.P.
Unfortunately, before you can do so, you'll need to create a required item and track down a few necessary crafting components first. Luckily, you can find most of what you need in one location, making it easy to find. Here's where to get the Frog Habitat in Fallout 76 to earn the Herpetologist Pioneer Scouts badge.
Where To Get The Frog Habitat In Fallout 76
The only way to get the Frog Habitat in Fallout 76 is by crafting a Frog Jar using a chemistry station. You will unlock the Frog Jar recipe from Scout Master Jaggy while completing 'The Order of the Tadpole' quest in Fallout 76.
Here are the crafting materials you need to build the Frog Jar in Fallout 76:
- Bloodleaf x 1
- Glass x 4
- Wood x 1
The best place to find a Bloodleaf is at Spruce Knob Lake. You will find them sitting on the bank of the lake. However, you'll face a few enemies like Mirelurks and Scorched, so be ready to fight while you're here.
Once you build a Frog Jar, you will automatically unlock the C.A.M.P. And Workshop recipes for the Frog Habitat. You'll find the Frog Habitat under the Floor Decor section of your C.A.M.P. Build menu.

How To Craft The Frog Habitat In Fallout 76
Here are the crafting materials you need to build the Frog Habitat in Fallout 76:
- Captured Frog x 1
- Adhesive x 2
- Frog Jar x 1
Once you have the Frog Jar built, you will need to find a Frog in Appalachia and capture it. The best place to capture frogs is near the Whitespring Golf Club area. Fast travel here, then look for the pool area next to the parking lot. You'll find blue, glowing frogs jumping around the pool.
To capture a frog, you only need to approach it and wait for the 'Collect' prompt to appear on your screen. Press that, and you will add a Captured Frog to your inventory. However, before you capture it, take a picture of the frog, as that is another requirement of this badge.
Head back to your C.A.M.P. Or Workshop and open your building menu. Find the Frog Habitat in the Floor Decor section and build it. You will get an onscreen prompt saying you completed the Herpetologist Pioneer Scouts badge in Fallout 76.
