A clever Fallout 4 player online has turned their Spectacle Island settlement into Vault City, as it appears in Fallout 2. With creativity combined with a couple of mods along the way, this Fallout 4 player has managed to recreate an iconic location from the series' history.

It's cool to see players helping Fallout 4's settlement-building system reach its full potential. Prior to the game's launch almost a decade ago, it was a big selling point for the game, and it's safe to say that it was worth the hype. Gamers are still finding creative ways to bring Fallout 4 settlements to life, which is only amplified when mods are thrown into the mix too. There was even a Fallout 4 player who built Fortnite's Battle Bus in the game using the settlements, showing how other franchises can often inspire these creations.

An inventive Fallout 4 fan decides to try playing through the game as an action figure, using a mod that's available on both PC and consoles.

Redditor Whole_Commercial_833 shared an extensive gallery of screenshots from their build, which recreates Fallout 2's Vault City in Fallout 4 using the settlement builder. It even includes the first area of Vault 8, which is fully explorable. The settlement chosen for this is Spectacle Island, as it has arguably the biggest open space for these types of creations. Although Fallout 2 is an isometric RPG, this particular area of the game translates extremely well, especially when populated with NPCs to make it feel more alive. According to Whole_Commercial_833, they plan to also recreate Fallout 2's version of Shady Sands next, although it isn't finished yet.

Fallout 2's Vault City Recreated in Fallout 4

Interestingly, this settlement uses several different Fallout 4 mods to achieve its effects. In response to questions about the Vault City settlement, the poster shared that numerous building mods were used, including the popular Homemaker, Capital Wasteland Workshop, and Lima Objects. Make no mistake - this build is no less impressive due to this. These mods simply provide more tools for the player to work with, which they have used to perfection here.

It remains to be seen how long it will take for a new mainline Fallout game to be released. The wait seems set to extend for a while yet, despite Bethesda claiming it wants to release games at a quicker rate earlier this year. Bethesda is currently busy working on the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6, and any work on a potential Fallout 5 seems unlikely until that game is finished. It will be interesting to see if Bethesda hands out the IP to another developer in the meantime, much like with Fallout: New Vegas, in the name of keeping the games relevant as the TV adaptation continues to see success.
