Performance mode is what players should pick if they are wanting to prioritize their FPS. This will ensure that the FPS is as high as it can be while not focusing as much on the resolution. This mode will rely upon the dynamic resolution scaling of modern consoles to create a 1440p experience with 60 FPS, which is higher than quality mode (though the dynamic resolution scaling can cause this resolution to decrease at times). What Is Quality Mode In Fallout 4?

Quality mode is focused more on the quality of the graphics while running the game. Players will be able to play the game in 4K while running at 30 FPS, allowing there to be more room for the visuals to shine at the cost of some frames. Players will notice that when playing in this setting, the graphics will be set to ultra, which ensures that players will see some amazing visuals while playing.

If players have a 120hz monitor or TV, they will be able to active the 120hz setting on the console (only PS5 and Xbox Series X, the Series S doesn't do this; instead, it just upscales the visuals to fit the resolution), which will allow the game to run at 40 FPS during gameplay.
