Fallout 4 is one of the best open-world action RPGs to date, so much so it may even be as good as its predecessor, Fallout 3. While Fallout 76 does not get the same kind of praise, it manages to get a few things right. For instance, Fallout 76 does not force players to figure out things on their own, which can be a problem for players playing Fallout 4 for the first time.
Fallout 4 Player Makes Dialogue Realization After 200+ Hours
A Fallout 4 player that's already committed over two hundred hours to the game realizes there's a dialogue option they didn't know about.
When playing Fallout 4, players will encounter a quest requiring them to build and activate a Recruitment Radio Beacon for Preston Garvey. Surprisingly, the game does not explain how players can power the Recruitment Radio Beacon after it has been built. The quest requires the player to construct the Recruitment Radio Beacon tower and power it with a generator, but it does not tell players how to craft wire. Fortunately, this guide will cover everything there is to know about crafting wire in Fallout 4, along with other useful information.
Steps for Crafting Wire in Fallout 4
First, it is worth noting that wire is not an item that can be crafted in Fallout 4. Attaching a wire between objects in Fallout 4 is as simple as pressing a button. To attach wire to objects in Fallout 4, here is what you need to do:
- Access Workshop Mode by pressing the middle mouse button for PC, the Touchpad button on a PlayStation controller, or the View button on an Xbox controller.
- Get close to the object you want to interact with.
- You will find an option to “Attach Wire”. Press Space on the keyboard for PC, the Triangle button on a PlayStation controller, or the Y button on an Xbox controller.
- After attaching the wire to one object, move to the other object and repeat the process.
Attaching Wires in Fallout 4
If two objects are far apart, you cannot connect them using a wire. Instead, you will need to build a connector in between to bridge the gap. A good idea would be to build a connector next to the first object and then move to the maximum distance allowed to attach the wire.
While the game does not explicitly mention this, you will need Copper for wire. Also, you will not get Copper back for scrapping the wire or destroying the object it is attached to.
Moving Wires in Fallout 4
Moving an object attached to a wire will turn red if it is too far or intersects with another object.
Interestingly, you can select and move wires by grabbing the end and attaching them to another object.
