Whirlpools have often been used in media to throw adventurers astray - from ancient Greek myths like The Odyssey to modern cozy video games like Fae Farm, their presence usually leads to danger and a very damaged boat. They terrorize the waters of Azoria, locking off several areas and activities in the opening hours of the game.
Despite this, Fae Farm players aren't doomed to be harassed by these swirling dangers forever. In fact, getting rid of them unlocks several new options for making florins. New characters will come to the island after the whirlpools are dealt with, too - many of them can even be romanced, so getting rid of whirlpools should be players' number one priority.
Fae Farm: How To Sell Items
In Fae Farm, Florins can be exchanged for goods and services. This guide will help players sell their items for money, and sell more items daily.
How To Get Rid of Whirlpools in Fae Farm
Acting as an annoying obstacle in the first few chapters of the game, whirlpools can only be dealt with by making significant progress through the game's main story line. Thorns are the first threat players must deal with, but once they're gone, whirlpools become the primary target.
The story quests players must complete mostly revolve around the Saltwater Mine. To reach the stage where whirlpools are destroyed, players will need:
-
A seal crafting station
- Making one requires 20 Stone and 10 Copper Ore.
-
A stone forge
- Making one requires 25 Stone and 10 Coal
- A pickax upgraded to copper
- A pickax upgraded to iron
Upon completion of the upgrade-to-iron quest, players will get a key that grants them access to the rest of the Saltwater Mine. Plenty of seals should be crafted for fast travel, with the ultimate goal being to reach the 25th floor. Here, players meet a creature named Nyssa - they've been creating whirlpools for fun, totally unaware of the danger they pose, and are more than happy to dispel them - once players have provided a hearty meal, listed below.
-
5 Steamed Fish
- Making one requires a Cooking Hearth, 1 Fish Fillet, and 2 Fresh Greens.
- Fish Fillets and Fresh Greens can only be crafted at a Food Prep Table.
-
3 Sardine
- These can be caught around the docks year-round.
-
20 Diced Roots
- These are crafted at a Food Prep Table with crops like Turnips.
-
10 Sand Dollar
- Can be foraged on the coast.
-
10 Coral
- Can be foraged on the coast.
Each item has to be placed in the shrine in front of Nyssa, and players must sleep once each one has been placed. When they wake up, they'll be treated to a cutscene - the whirlpools will be gone, and they'll have a brand-new spell unlocked that can also get rid of the island's pesky dark mist.
Fae Farm is available now for PC and Nintendo Switch.
