The waters of Azoria in Fae Farm aren't the only places where animals can be found. The developers at Phoenix Labs have filled the game's wonderfully relaxing world with moths, bees, frogs, and other little creatures that players can find and capture with a bit of effort. Successfully capturing these critters will reward players with XP that makes their critter hunting even more lucrative.

How To Catch Critters in Fae Farm

During the game's tutorial, players will meet Mel, the town's beekeeper. He gives the player a critter net and lays out the basics of using it, as listed below:

  1. Equip the critter net.
  2. Hold left click to sneak up to a critter.
  3. Release left click when a blue circle is around a critter to capture them.

This is easier said than done with some creatures. Toads, for example, are very wary of the player, while most flying insects are barely aware of their surroundings. When a critter has a '!' Above its head, it will try to escape and eventually disappear in a cloud of smoke. Critters do respawn, and quick players can attempt to capture them while they're trying to escape. It's important to stay sneaky for a high chance of success.

As players' critter catching level increases, they're treated to a variety of bonuses to make the hobby even more lucrative. Their starter net isn't the only one that can be used either. Mel will sell upgraded nets at level 3, 5, and 7. On the surface, these may seem like cosmetic-only upgrades, but upgraded nets can capture Fae critters and mountain critters that are immune to the starting critter net.

With critters in their inventory, players are free to sell them or place them in storage. Additional resources can be harvested by placing them inside a 'critter conservatory.' Keeping some of the rarer types in a storage shed until they can be placed inside a conservatory is recommended.
