Exoprimal is a third-person shooter action title from Capcom. In it, players will have to fend for themselves against a host of aggressive dinosaurs and their modified counterparts called Neosaurs. In this PvP and PvE multiplayer online game, players will have a team with several other players, and each person can switch Exosuits based on team composition. There are ten different suits in the game currently, and each suit has a different play style and job and a unique variant that changes the weapons players will use with it. These modified suits are called Alpha Variants.
How to Get the Alpha Variants in Exoprimal
Alpha Variants will be available on August 17, 2023, with the start of Season 1. Players will not have to purchase the season pass or do anything special to get these variations; they will be available automatically as soon as the update for Season 1 is ready to play. Exoprimal players will then be able to play with these Alpha versions with all suits they have currently unlocked. This will not include unlockable Exosuits like the Nimbus if players haven't reached the requisite level to unlock them yet.
What Do the Alpha Variants Do in Exoprimal?
The Alpha Variants in Exoprimal change the look and the feel of each type of Exosuit. Players will get a different kind of weapon to attack with, changing how each of the support, assault, and tank suits feel during combat. Here's a preview of what each of these suits will be like come August.
Alpha Deadeye Exosuit
The original Deadeye Exosuit in Exoprimal carries a low-recoil assault rifle, but the Alpha Variant of the Deadeye will have a shotgun with a short-range spread.
Alpha Zephyr Exosuit
The Zephyr is a melee Exosuit with very light armor, so players will have to be quick on their feet to prevent getting hit. The Alpha Zephyr suit adds a ranged attack via its chakram.
Alpha Barrage Exosuit
The Barrage suit is all about grenades and explosives, detonating bombs at close or mid-range. Players will get a long-distance rocket launcher as a replacement with the Alpha version of this suit in the upcoming season 1 of Exoprimal' s Road Map.
Alpha Nimbus Exosuit
The Nimbus is a suit that can be unlocked in Exoprimal at player level 10.
Alpha Skywave Exosuit
The Alpha variation of the Skywave is still a support unit, but instead of focusing wholly on healing, the Alpha Skywave has a lighting attack that paralyzes enemies, much like the base Witchdocter suit. It also adds a new high-powered attack, lighting single-target attacks as well.
Alpha Witchdoctor Exosuit
The Witchdocter's base suit fires beams that damage and freeze enemies while boosting allies. The Alpha variant alters this beam, allowing players to focus their attack or heal on a target to boost its effectiveness.
Alpha Krieger Exosuit
While the base Krieger exosuit has a machine gun that can mow down enemies, the Alpha Krieger suit adds a "rechargeable shotgun, offering wide-range scattershot as well as compressed fire options."
Alpha Murasame Exosuit
The Alpha Murasame suit adds frost power to the suit's normal massive samurai sword. Capcom describes the other addition to the suit: "Guarded attacks turn into energy, which can be unleashed in ground-based waves of ice that freeze enemies in their tracks, opening them up for attacks."
Alpha Roadblock Exosuit
This tank suit is built just like the name implies: nothing gets by it. It has a massive amount of durability. The Alpha variant allows the Roadblock to place down energy shields strategically around the battlefield.
Alpha Vigilant Exosuit
The third unlockable suit is the Vigilant, a tank suit with a ton of firepower. This long-range attacker comes with a sniper rifle. However, if players want to change this suit's roll up a little, they can switch to the Alpha version, which gives it a semi-automatic rifle with a random chance to crit.
Exoprimal is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
