One of the original creators of Escape from Tarkov is giving fans the first teaser about his brand-new game, with COR3 revealed as an eerie sci-fi shooter. Escape from Tarkov was a hit with fans from as early as its first closed beta test in 2017, with the extraction shooter from Battlestate Games gaining popularity on streaming platforms for its engaging gameplay loop. Tarkov spent more than a decade in development, receiving consistent updates before finally receiving its long-awaited full release in late 2025. Throughout its history, one of the biggest public faces for the game has been the man who founded Battlestate Games.

Since Escape from Tarkov's rise in popularity, Nikita Buyanov has been one of the most recognizable names attached to the shooter. Buyanov currently stands as the COO for Escape from Tarkov studio Battlestate Games, first founding the company to begin development on the game in 2012. Buyanov also acts in a hands-on role for the development of the shooter, listed as the game director for Escape from Tarkov and composing much of the game's soundtrack himself. Now, despite Escape from Tarkov only fully launching in late 2025, Buyanov is already giving fans a look at his next big game.

New Escape From Tarkov Update Is Not What Players Wanted

Escape from Tarkov fans have been asking Battlestate Games to change the ending, and a recent update does just that, but not in the way they wanted.

COR3 Is a New Sci-Fi Shooter from Escape From Tarkov Dev

Nikita Buyanov has officially given fans their first look at the Escape from Tarkov developer's next game, showing off COR3's unsettling premise. The short trailer follows a soldier in what looks to be the destroyed wreckage of a city, slowly zooming out to reveal a massive technologically advanced civilization on Mars. The planet's orbit is littered with devastated spaceships and the floating bodies of astronauts, with one surviving space station likely being used for reconnaissance to investigate the aftermath of the unknown disaster. The game's reveal also came with an interactive website revealing more details about the concept behind COR3.

What Do We Know About COR3?

COR3's official website establishes the game as taking place just over two centuries in the future, set in the year 2251. The premise tells of a group known as The Core that "reversed mutual total destruction" and is now putting the focus on reviving human civilization and "uniting the governments of the world." The website features several different interactive elements fans can look into, prompting fans to sign up with their email address and offering access to multiple different lore tidbits about the new game from the Escape from Tarkov studio. COR3's trailer and website do not give any official details about an official release date for the shooter.

COR3 looks to be a sci-fi adventure focused on humanity at the brink of its own destruction. The trailer does little to tease the gameplay of the new shooter, showing few details beyond its post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting. The beginning of the teaser gives a very brief snippet of what appears to be a first-person gameplay perspective, suggesting that COR3 will debut as a new FPS from Battlestate Games. The trailer does, however, set up some minor details about the specifics of its setting, with the suits worn by the floating bodies boasting the red star insignia commonly used by Russia.

Battlestate Games Has Lots on the Horizon

COR3's reveal comes as the full release of Escape from Tarkov has already brought some big news for fans of the game. Battlestate Games confirmed that the shooter will soon welcome its first official crossover, teaming up with parody game Escape from Duckov for a mutual collaboration. The developer has also teased major plans for 2026, with everything from multiple new maps to some significant new mechanics in its pre-existing locations, like shooting locks off doors. Battlestate Games looks to be aiming for bigger and better things, both with Escape from Tarkov and the newly-revealed COR3.

We have pioneered the genre of extraction shooters

Escape from Tarkov is the benchmark. This is where the mechanics of escaping from a conflict zone came into being. It isn't just PvP or PvE — it's a world where every decision impacts your survival.

Every raid is a unique scenario. You go in taking risks and come out with the spoils, or don’t come out at all.

We've rewritten the standards

Gunplay and sounds, realistic character manipulation, ballistics, advanced armor system, bleedings, fractures — this is not just another shooter game. It's a simulation of combat in extreme conditions.

1000+ models of equipment and weapons, brought as close to reality as possible. Comprehensive weapon customization: infinite combinations of sights, gadgets, and accessories to create unique builds. Character appearance customization, clothing for different seasons — all this affects the gameplay and your chances of survival.

Survival is a strategy

Everything has a price: armor, ammo, time. A mistake in a raid means losing everything. Trading, crafting, hideout, barters, skill leveling, completing tasks - these are not side objectives, they are the basis of progress.

The winner is not the one who shoots better, but the one who lives in the world of Tarkov, understands the intricacies and has a strategic advantage.

Each location means a different tactic, different pace, different risk

Factory plants, forests, city districts. No repetitiveness. You never know what awaits you in a new raid.

Night raids, bad weather, betrayals, airdrops, random extraction points, gunfights with Scavs, unique Bosses — every raid could become your last.

But after dying in a raid, you can’t give up. You learn from your mistakes and re-equip your character to try to grasp and escape from Tarkov once and for all.
