Epic Universe Now Has an Official Opening Date

Universal Orlando Resort just announced the May 22, 2025 opening date of its fourth theme park, the much-anticipated Epic Universe. Having been in development since 2019, the opening date for this massive expansion to the Universal property was originally speculated to be in late 2025.

Epic Universe is Universal’s most ambitious project and is set to be its biggest park yet. For years, little was known about the opening date outside the nebulous given timeframe of late 2025. Construction is well underway, with many of the themed areas in the park nearing completion, and many rides and props now being tested, so fans have been anxiously waiting for an official opening date.

Universal clarified that Epic Universe will be open to the public beginning May 22, 2025. This springtime opening comes as a surprise to fans, but it’s the perfect time for a new park to open. There is also a history of Universal debuting major changes to its parks from May through July. May is typically a slower month for most theme parks, so drawing crowds to the resort during a lull in attendance is a smart move. However, this strategy comes with a catch.

Ticket Packages and Hotel Reservation Dates Revealed

Ticket sales are in their first phase, so more packages, general admission single-day tickets, and additional ticket options such as Express passes will be announced sometime in the future. The current packages can be purchased directly from Universal or through travel agents beginning October 22, 2024.

• For now, the only way to get tickets to Epic Universe is through multi-day packages.
• These packages range from three to five days worth of tickets, with an additional day for admittance to Epic Universe.
• The only way to purchase a single-day ticket is by being an Annual Passholder, with sales for these tickets starting October 24, 2024.

Outside of ticket bundles, guests can also begin booking stays at the Universal Helios Grand Hotel on October 22. This hotel, as seen in the concept art for the park, overlooks the central hub and has its own entrance into Epic Universe. Theme park admission is not included with a reservation. It should be noted that rooms at the value resorts near the new park, the Stella Nova and the Terra Luna, can be booked now and open January 21 and February 25, 2025, respectively.
