The development of the Epic Games Store continues into 2020. Epic Games continues to toil away, upgrading its storefront as it's able. While it may not be upgrading the Epic Games Store with much-wanted features as fast as fans want, significant work is still being done. Tuesday Epic proved it by adding another big Epic Games Store feature. Epic Games Store users can now put together a Wishlist.
A Wishlisting feature has been one of the Epic Games Store's priorities since Epic started tracking in-development features publicly. A Wishlist allows Epic Games Store users to track a list of games in the store that they are either waiting to launch, to get discounted, or simply to keep an eye on. Every single game listed on the Epic Games Store, whether it's available to purchase or not, whether it even has a price or not, can be added to a user's wishlist.
The Wishlist feature on the Epic Games Store is very simple to use. All a user has to do is first go to the profile of the game they want to track. Next to the game's price is a heart icon. Clicking on that icon will add the game to the wishlist. To view the wishlist, click the username in the bottom left corner of the Epic Games Store. From this menu select Wishlist. Users can remove the game from their wishlist by clicking on the heart icon again, either from their wishlist or from the game's profile.
In the wishlist itself, users are able able to sort by pricing, by how recently the game was added, or alphabetically. They can also sort by which games are on sale, which should be a useful feature once the next seasonal sale comes around.
Epic Games plans to expand on the feature in the future. It plans to, at the very least, offer email options for certain changes to a user's wishlist. For example, an email update if a game launches or goes on sale.
Wishlists are just one of many features that Epic Games has been working on for quite some time. The Epic Games Store Trello board shows what features should be next to be completed. These include "Mod Support for Games," "Self-Service Refunds," and a "Trending" section on the storefront's frontpage. Bigger features like Achievements, Gifting, and a Shopping Cart are still planned, but won't be available for some time.
Expect further updates regarding the Epic Games Store in the months to come.
