The Epic Games Store has released two new games and confirmed the return of its Mystery Game Promotion. As many longtime users will know, the Epic Games Store Mystery Game Promotion tends to give away a new game (or games) every day for a set period during the holiday season. It's never certain how long they will last, but fans tend to get around two weeks worth of free games.

For this week, Epic Games Store users can claim GigaBash and Predecessor. GigaBash is a brawler fighting game, not unlike Super Smash Bros. Or MultiVersus, but in this title, players take on the role of giant Kaiju. They have a plethora of abilities, the ability to absorb Giga-energy to become a bigger, S-class Kaiju, and a Giga-ball that will unlock an ultimate attack. Predecessor is a 10-player fantasy MOBA where players, in teams of five, fight over 3 lanes. There are various objectives, items, and more to gather and do in the fight, all from a third-person action perspective.

Epic Games Store users have one less day than normal to claim these titles, with them leaving the service on December 13 at 10am CT. Typically, they would last until the next Thursday and not until the next Wednesday. This is because this is when the first Epic Games Store Mystery Game will go live: December 13 at 10am CT. The wrapping paper associated with this promotion typically hints at the the next game could be, with the mouse and button being as confusing as they come. Some fans have quickly theorized it to be Cookie Cutter, a 2D Metroidvania where a violent android seeks to save her maker. But, for now, that remains to be seen.

Epic Games Store Free Games for December 2023

  • GigaBash (December 7 - December 13)
  • Predecessor (December 7 - December 13)
  • Mystery Game (December 13)

With the Epic Games Store Mystery Game promo going live on December 13, fans can reasonably expect it to last until Christmas if not reaching past it. When it ends remains to be seen, but fans can expect a constant influx of new games. Many of these will be the standard size and scope of Epic Games Store free games, like GigaBash or even Cookie Cutter possibly, but it can be more than that.

In the past, Epic Games Store has given away some massive AAA titles on the promotion before. Fans will just need to wait and see when and if that happens, and what Epic Games has placed under their Christmas trees.
