The list of free games given away by the Epic Games Store continues to grow and grow with every passing week. Players can collect the last set of Epic Games Store freebies for September right now, and they can look forward to another set next Thursday at 10 AM CT. The week of October 2 sees the return of a few deals the storefront's regulars might recognize from earlier on in the year.
In April, the Epic Games Store gave away a considerable amount of bundles for free-to-play games that came with free premium currency, exclusive unlockables, and all sorts of perks. Because these packs aren't exactly "free games" per se, Epic gave away a few last-minute games during the week. Earlier, in March, the Epic Games Store free games page gave away an early access title at no extra charge to keep. Both of these interesting offerings are back through Firestone Idle RPG and Nightingale.
Epic Games Store Free Game Firestone Explained
Firestone has been around since 2019, dropping long before the recent idle RPGs that have become a craze on the mobile game market. It was fully released last year, and now has a place on platforms such as Steam, Apple's App Store, Google Play, and, of course, the Epic Games Store. These "idle" games have become very popular, mostly in part because players can basically play while doing other things in their day-to-day lives. If these types of experiences are what fans enjoy, then they can claim a ton of free items by logging into Firestone next week when its bundle goes live on the Epic Games Store. The free games page has already hosted a bundle like this in the past, but this time, there are entirely new rewards up for grabs exclusively for those playing through Epic's launcher. Said rewards are as follows:
- Exclusive skin “The cheerful monk” for hero Benedictus Monk
- 2 Avatars for your character profile
- 10 Common chests, each containing at least 1 piece of Hero’s gear
- 5 Uncommon chests containing at least 1 Uncommon gear
- 10 Wooden chests with at least 1 piece of Hero’s jewels
- 5 Iron chests with at least 1 Uncommon jewel
- 360 Strange dust to train your Guardians or conduct Experiments
- 50 scrolls to enhance your stats in battles
- 35 Game tokens to test your luck at the Tavern
- 5 Prestige tokens, to perform EPIC prestiges
- 200 gems
Epic Games Store Free Game Nightingale Explained
The best way to describe Nightingale is that it's a smorgasbord of multiple genres. If players grab Inflexion Games' title, they can experience a first-person, PVE, open-world crafting game with survival elements both in single-player and co-op. According to Steam reviews, however, the co-op does have some issues that need to be ironed out. Luckily, there's a chance they will be, as Nightingale is an early access game. This means that any future updates, including those that come when Nightingale fully launches, will be there waiting for players in their library if they grab the game for free right now.
Nightingale's Current Features
- Card mechanics to build unique sandbox worlds
- Fantastical, Victorian-era vibe complete with an umbrella to glide with
- Intriguing combat
- Crafting mechanics range from regular toolbuilding to building full houses and towns to live in
- Quickly understood controls and amazing storytelling, according to the Epic Games Store page.
Between Firestone's bundle of goodies and Nightingale's early access status, both games have an incredible opportunity for gamers if they decide to try them out once they rotate onto the free games page. Players can make a considerable amount of progress in Firestone with the items the idle RPG is giving away, and returning Epic Games Store players can grab the bundle as well. Nightingale, on the other hand, gives players the chance to watch a promising game grow before their eyes at no cost if they grab it while it's available for free. While both of these games offer different types of value to Epic Games Store users, it's still a prime example of what great deals can be found on the store if one checks back regularly enough.
