Both games were well-received by Deus Ex fans, and many have been patiently waiting for another installment in the Deus Ex universe. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though a new Deus Ex game will be hitting store shelves at any point in the near future.
Following layoffs at Eidos Montreal, recent reports have indicated that a new Deus Ex game was canceled by Embracer Group. Now, it's entirely possible that Deus Ex could still make a comeback at some point down the line, but it's likely that the franchise will remain dormant for years, if it ever returns at all. Perhaps Deus Ex: Mankind Divided being given away fro free through the Epic Games Store will revive interest in the series, but that remains to be seen.
