PC gamers who use the Epic Games Store have a limited time left to claim Machinarium and Make Way for free before they cycle out of the program. Much like other PC gaming platforms such as Steam and Amazon Prime Gaming, the Epic Games Store also dishes out free games to those who claim them every single week.

So far, 2025 has been a solid year for Epic Games Store users who like adding free games to their libraries. While most of the time, the free Epic Games Store offerings are small, largely unheard-of indie games, there have been a couple of big splashes this year as well. The platform's very first free game of the year was Kingdom Come: Deliverance in January, preparing PC gamers for the critically acclaimed sequel which released the following month. May and June had some heavy hitters as well, with 2023 zombie slayer Dead Island 2, indie classic Limbo, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Sifu, and Deathloop all going up for grabs.

Free Epic Games Machinarium and Make Way Return to Full Price Tomorrow, September 4

Epic Games Store users have one last chance to grab this past week's free games, as they're about to be replaced with two other titles. Machinarium and Make Way went free last Thursday and will only be available at no cost until tomorrow, September 4, at 11 AM. Both of these games combine to total a value of $35, so interested gamers should drop into the Epic Games Store to grab them before they return to their normal prices.

Having initially released all the way back in 2009, Machinarium was brought to the Epic Games Store this past December. A point-and-click adventure game with an incredible art style, its twisted, mechanical, Tim Burton-esque world likely went on to serve as inspiration for games like Lost in Random, Little Nightmares, and Limbo. The other game currently up for grabs on the Epic Games Store, Make Way, is a top-down arcade racer that lets players build the tracks themselves. The game was initially released in 2023 for Switch, Steam, and Xbox, but only just recently arrived on the Epic Games Store last month.

With Machinarium and Make Way returning to their original prices tomorrow, two games are set to replace them in Monument Valley and The Battle of Polytopia. The former is a classic puzzle game that made its debut on mobile platforms in 2014 before later being ported to consoles, and the latter is an isometric strategy game that seems to have been party inspired by Minecraft. Epic Games Store users can look forward to both of these games becoming free for one week starting tomorrow.
