It’s tucked away in a hidden underwater location that can be accessed early on, making it a great reward for players who enjoy exploration. Here are all the uses for the Helm and where players might find this gleaming treasure in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

How To Get Fin Gleam (Underwater Breathing Helm) In Oblivion Remastered

Fast travel to the Lighthouse located in Anvil and begin making your way westward into the Abecean Sea. It's best to stay close to the shoreline ahead and follow the coast as you go, carefully avoiding unnecessary fights with Mudcrabs along the way. Continue heading west until you come across a small, narrow patch of land extending out into the sea. Make your way onto this tiny island and locate a distinctive embedded rock resting near its center.

Stand facing the rock and look out towards the open water, then dive in and swim downwards. As you descend beneath the surface, stay on course and begin searching the ocean floor. Before long, you’ll spot a skeleton lying on the seabed, partially buried and noticeably wearing a helmet. Swim closer to the body and loot it to obtain the Fin Gleam, then make your way back to shore before your breath runs out—unless, of course, you plan to equip your new prize immediately.

What Does Fin Gleam Helm Do In Oblivion Remastered?

Fin Gleam is an enchanted Light Armor helmet that offers a range of powerful effects, making it incredibly valuable throughout your journey in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Its most practical feature is Water Breathing, which enables you to dive into lakes, oceans, and submerged ruins without worrying about running out of breath and drowning. This opens up access to hidden areas and treasure chests underwater, some of which are nearly impossible to reach safely without the effect. In addition to this, the helmet provides Nighteye, an effect that grants improved vision in dark environments.

With Nighteye active, players can explore even the darkest dungeons or caves without the need for torches or light spells. The world takes on a bluish hue, but everything remains sharp and clear, allowing you to react quickly to threats and navigate with ease. On top of that, the helmet also includes Detect Life on Self within a 20-foot radius. This is particularly useful when facing enemies like assassins or mages who use invisibility during combat.

With Detect Life, you’ll see them outlined in a glow, helping you stay a step ahead and avoid getting ambushed by unseen foes.
