While perhaps not the most popular of Daedric Princes, Peryite still has a loyal following that worships the Lord of Pestilence. With his order taking dominion over the lower planes of Oblivion, it's no surprise that his mission within Oblivion Remastered involves venturing to these planes to do battle with demons and save the souls of his loyal disciples.
How to Get Skull of Corruption (Vaermina’s Shrine Quest) in Oblivion Remastered
If players are looking for a powerful staff, then seek out Vaermina's Skull of Corruption, which can be obtained by completing this quest found here.
Peryite's appearance in Oblivion Remastered provides a unique Daedra Quest, along with the
Spell Breaker shield that grants a new Daedric Artifact for players to wield into battle to help them against magical enemies with ghastly spells.
Where to Find Peryite's Shrine in Oblivion Remastered
Peryite's Shrine can be found in the far east region of Bravil, at the latter end of the Silverfish River. Upon arriving at the shrine, players will find 5 disciples that are frozen in place, and players cannot interact with them or loot them (don't try to kill them either). Once players are at Peryite's Shrine, they can interact with the altar at Level 10 to commune with Peryite and aid him in bringing the souls of his followers back from the planes of Oblivion.
Speaking to Peryite again will give players a prompt where they can choose whether to travel to Oblivion or not. Be warned, once players accept, they cannot return until they rescue all 5 followers, but that's a simple enough task. Before entering Oblivion, try to bring along decent Potions of Healing and Water Walking Spells, as there is a lot of lava to be encountered that can be traversed with Water Walking, and Healing Potions to avoid dying to it.
Fire Damage Resistance Potions/Spells will not work as lava deals unique damage.
How to Free All 5 Souls of Peryite's Followers in Oblivion Remastered
Once players are ready to head into Oblivion, speak with Peryite, who will teleport players inside. The objective here is simple, and players need to look at the map markers to find each of the followers on individual islands. This quest can be rather tedious, as a lot of backtracking is involved in heading to the different islands and interacting with the souls. The easiest way to complete this quest is to simply venture across Oblivion, and when faced with a lava gap or a long way round, travel through the lava and consume Potions of Healing to avoid death. Here are the five souls players need to find:
- Soul of Er-Teeus
- Soul of Ilvel Romayn
- Soul of Mirie
- Soul of Maren the Seal
- Soul of Kewan
Upon interacting with the fifth and final soul, players will be able to return to the central island to find an Oblivion Gate portal that will take them back to the Peryite Shrine.
Despite being inside Oblivion, there are no Sigil Stones to be obtained here, nor any exclusive loot, so feel free to leave.
How to Get the Spell Breaker Shield in Oblivion Remastered
Once players have returned to Cyrodiil through Peryite's portal in the Oblivion realm, players can speak to the statue of the Daedra to receive praise. Upon speaking with Peryite, they will be given the Spell Breaker shield, which will immediately be placed into their inventory. Spell Breaker is a Heavy Armor shield that has a unique effect, as it will have a 30% chance to reflect spells back into the user who cast it. This is great for players who can't stand fighting magic users and want them to have a taste of their own medicine.
