How to Get Sigil Stones in Oblivion Remastered

Sigil Stones are acquired through Oblivion Gates. Players must enter Oblivion Gates and reach the top of the glowing red tower to interact and claim the Sigil Stone, which will complete the Oblivion Gate and reward players with a Sigil Stone that they can use. However, it's worth noting that there can only be around 60 Oblivion Gates in any playthrough, and they're best saved for higher-level playthroughs as the loot drops will increase, as will the state of the Sigil Stone, which grants players greater enchantments. Here are the levels players can be, and the Sigil Stone that will drop for them:

How to Use Sigil Stones in Oblivion Remastered

Sigil Stones are used to enchant weapons/armor/jewelry. To see what enchantments the Sigil Stone has before it is used, players can select Show Details in the inventory screen and select the star symbol next to the eye, which will showcase both the Offensive Effect and the Defensive Effect. Players can use the Sigil Stone through the following method:

  • Enter the inventory screen and select the Sigil Stone
  • Select any unenchanted weapon/armor/jewelry that is not a quest item
  • Name the item in the top right
  • Combine the two to enchant

After using a Sigil Stone to enchant an item, the Sigil Stone will be consumed. Sigil Stones can be used to enchant items anywhere and do not require the use of Enchanting Altars or a Soul Gem. Each Sigil Stone is randomised and has predetermined strengths and effects, meaning players cannot choose which defense/offense effects are placed onto the enchanted gear and weapons. There are over 150 different Sigil Stone enchantments with unique stats, but some important ones to look out for involve Fortify Stats for Armor, along with Damage Stats for Weapons.
