For thieves and greedy adventurers alike, the Security skill in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is essential for unlocking chests and doors to obtain loot or quest items. As many of these locks are extremely hard to open, even for those with good reactions, players will want to level up their Security quickly. With a higher Security skill, players will waste less time and break fewer lockpicks, which they would then need to find more of.
Oblivion Remastered: How to Make Gold Fast
Money is important in any RPG, and Oblivion Remastered is no exception. Here are the best methods to accumulate a decent amount of cash quickly.
What Does Security Do In Oblivion Remastered
The Security skill affects the character's ability to use lockpicks to open locked doors and containers. Upon reaching new levels at this skill, fewer tumblers will fall upon failing and breaking a lock. Thus, mistakes while lockpicking are easier to recover from. The timing for setting tumblers will also become more forgiving as players get better at Security in Oblivion Remastered.

How To Increase The Security Skill In Oblivion Remastered
There are a few ways to increase Security in Oblivion Remastered, but the main way is by setting tumblers while lockpicking. Interestingly, this means the full lock does not need to be opened to gain Security XP.
- Set tumblers while lockpicking.
- Learn from Security trainers.
- Read Security skill books.
Setting Tumblers & The Fastest Way To Max Out Security In Minutes
Tumblers are set at the top of the lock after being moved up by the player. On the various platforms, this is:
- Xbox: A
- PlayStation: Cross
- PC: Spacebar
Interestingly, there is a glitch where players can set one tumbler and then s pam the set button on that same tumbler to level up Security extremely fast. Players won't see their Security skill at the top change yet, but they should hear the audio cue for leveling up.
Upon exiting lockpicking (without needing to open the lock), players will see that it's increased loads. It takes less than 5 minutes of spamming to max out Security at 100.
