Fastest Ways To Raise Marksman Skill In Oblivion Remastered

For stealth archers and other ranged characters, the Marksman Skill in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered determines how much damage is dealt with bows. As with other Skills in Oblivion Remastered, players will eventually want to level it up to 100 to unlock all the bonus effects.

What Does Marksman Do In Oblivion Remastered?

The Marksman skill essentially determines how much damage is dealt with Bows, although this will also be increased by the Agility Attribute. By leveling it up, players will earn new effects. The ability to aim down sight and paralyze targets at levels 50 and 75, respectively, should be of particular interest.

Skill Level	Effects
Novice (0-24)	Lose Fatigue while aiming.
Apprentice (25-49)	No longer loses Fatigue while aiming.
Journeyman (50-74)	Can focus their vision by holding LMB or Left Trigger while aiming.
Expert (75-99)	Arrows have a 10% chance to paralyze targets for 5 seconds.
Master (100)	Arrows have a 25% chance to paralyze targets for 5 seconds.

As Marksman experience is gained by hitting opponents with arrows and is not tied to damage or killing enemies, players want to find targets that will last the longest. They will also want to deal less damage, allowing them to attack more before a target dies. Here are some tips for farming the Marksman Skill in Oblivion Remastered:

Use weak bows and arrows that deal less damage.
Don't level up Agility too much, as bow attacks will deal more damage.
Summon creatures using spells for free training practice.
Heal enemies before they die so that you can continue using them as target practice.
The Imperial City's Arena is a great place for constant combat.
If you use the inactive NPCs at Peryite's Shrine as target practice, be careful upon reaching Level 75 Marksman, as paralyzing them can bug out the game.

Many of these tips apply to other combat Skills, such as leveling up Blade.
