There are many different spells available to use in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and they are quite fun to experiment with, which is the main reason why some players focus on improving their magic skills and aim for a Mage build. These spells can completely alter the gameplay experience and deliver some unexpectedly powerful effects.

Walking on water is one of those incredibly fun spells in Oblivion Remastered that is also quite rare. Unless you have prior experience with the game, it's quite difficult to find this spell effect randomly. The good news is that there are two different ways to enable this effect, and they are not costly or demanding.

How To Get The Sea Stride Spell With Walk On Water In Oblivion Remastered

Cheydinhal Mages Guild - Oblivion Remastered

The first and easiest way to walk on water is to purchase its corresponding spell. There is only one pre-built spell in Oblivion Remastered that grants the Walk on Water effect, and that is Sea Stride. Thankfully, this spell can be purchased from a vendor, but using it will require the player to reach the Apprentice level at the very least and a strong investment in the Intelligence skill.

To purchase Sea Stride, take a trip to Cheydinhal, a town located east of Imperial City. Enter the city from the western gate, and take a right immediately. The first building on your left will be the Mages Guild building. You are strongly advised to visit the building after 12 PM, because the vendor's trading option only becomes available in the afternoon.

Once inside the building, look for a man named Trayvond the Redguard. If you're visiting him at the proper time of day, an option for purchasing spells should be visible below the dialogue options. Now, open his trade page and purchase Sea Stride. The spell costs 248 Gold coins originally, but you can increase the vendor's disposition and haggle the price to around 200 coins if you wish.

Once the spell is purchased (and you meet the level requirement to use it), cast the spell before entering water, and you will be able to walk on water for 30 seconds. There is no limitation on casting this spell. So, before the 30 seconds is over, you can cast it again if you still have enough Magicka.

How To Get Waterwalking Boots In Oblivion Remastered

If you are far from the Apprentice level or don't want to solely focus on a Mage build, there is another way to walk on water, but this method comes with some consequences. This time around, take a trip to Bravil, located south of Imperial City.

Be aware that you need to be Level 9 or above; otherwise, this method will not work.

Now, head to Aleron Loche's House. Once you enter the house, save the game manually before talking to the woman inside; this is extremely important.

Talk to the woman and ask her about Aleron Loche to receive the Caught in the Hunt quest. You will now receive a new marker on the map, which leads you to talk to Kurdan gro-Dragol. You should actually kill him instead of talking with him, because he is the NPC who drops Waterwalking Boots. So, kill him and check his loot for the boots. If you can't find them, reload your save again and repeat the process.

Simply keep repeating the mission until Kurdan eventually spawns with Waterwalking Boots. At Level 9, it may take around 5 retries to finally have him spawn with the correct boots.

Masque Of Clavicus Vile Location In Oblivion Remastered (Clavicus Vile's Shrine Quest)
Oblivion Remastered: How To Get Masque Of Clavicus Vile (Shrine Of Clavicus Vile Quest)

Masque of Clavicus Vile is a headgear with the ability to fortify personality, and players can get it by completing Clavicus Vile's Shrine quest.

If you kill Kurdan, the mission will fail. Caught in the Hunt's reward isn't so impressive, but this mission is the only way to unlock the doors of Fort Grief. This fort contains two Shadowbanish Wine bottles that players can deliver to Nerussa to receive 100 Gold per bottle. It's not a progression blocker, but it will remain locked to you if you obtain Waterwalking Boots by using this method.

Other Methods For Walking On Water In Oblivion Remastered

Water Walking With Boots - Oblivion Remastered

There are other items in Oblivion Remastered that also grant players the Water Walking ability, but there is no exact location to find them. As such, players will need to explore different locations and search various loot locations in order to eventually find one of them. Here are the rest of the items that grant the Water Walking effect:

It's worth noting that players can turn a Bronze Necklace into the Base Necklace of Seawalking with the right of enchantment.
