The standard edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered includes most of the original game's DLC – even the infamous original Oblivion Horse Armor DLC – but there are a few new rewards exclusive to the Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition. This special edition comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack, as well as a suite of unique in-game rewards themed after Mehrunes Dagon (Cataclysm) and Akatosh (Order).
Oblivion Remastered: Deluxe Edition Rewards & Price
The Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition rewards include in-game armor, weapons, and other digital goodies.
Those who purchase this deluxe edition will gain access to exclusive Oblivion Deluxe Edition quests that eventually reward players with a set of Cataclysm or Order armor, weapons, and horse armor. This guide explains how to claim Oblivion Deluxe Edition content, and how to start the quests that will eventually lead you to these new in-game rewards.
How To Start Oblivion Deluxe Edition Quests
"A Wound In Time" and "Burning Trail"
There are two Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition exclusive quests: "Burning Trail", and "A Wound In Time". The "Burning Trail" questline sees players follow a trail of notes that lead to a secret cabal of Mehrunes Dagon worshippers, while the "Wound in Time" quest sees players help a priest defeat a powerful Lich that has made its home in a cave near Anvil.
Only players with access to the exclusive Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition content will be able to see these quests in-game.
To start the Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition quests, you must ask NPCs about "Rumors" until you learn about a Priest in Kvatch or a Mythic Dawn notes in the Imperial City. When you learn either of these rumors, set the quest as your main quest and a map marker will appear. These quests can be picked up at any level, you do not have to level up your Oblivion character to access the Deluxe Edition content.
- The first note in the Mehrunes Dagon Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition quest can be found in Talos Plaza, attached to a small barrel next to the central fountain. Follow the hints (and your map markers) to find the next Mythic Dawn Pamphlet location.
- To start the Akatosh quest, fast travel to Kvatch and look for Ilav Dralgoner on the path that leads up the hill toward the Oblivion Gate and the city proper. He will direct you to an Ayleid Ruin north of Anvil.
Oblivion Remastered: Where To Go First
Knowing what to do first in Oblivion Remastered will help players get their footing in Cyrodiil and figure out where to go first.
How To Claim Oblivion Deluxe Edition Content
Complete Each Exclusive Quest To Get Exclusive Rewards
There are six major Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition in-game rewards players can claim, three for each exclusive quest:
- To get the Cataclysm set (Weapons of Cataclysm, Armor of Cataclysm, Cataclysm Horse Armor), Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition owners must complete the "Burning Trail" questline.
- To get the Order set (Weapons of Order, Armor of Order, Order Horse Armor), Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition players must complete the "Wound in Time" questline.
How To Get Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition Armor Sets & Weapons
After you complete each quest, you will gain access to a special NPC who will provide you with a choice of weapon and armor. Here, you can request either a Heavy or Light version of each armor set and your choice of Blunt, Blade, or Bow weapon. You can also choose to take all of the currently selected items at once.
- Once you have defeated the lich at the end of Beldaburo, return to Ilav Dralgoner. Select the "Equipment" option to choose a set or weapon.
- Once you sacrifice the innocent man in the cage in Mingo Cave after finding every note, you will gain the ability to summon Mehrunes' Harbinger. Summon this NPC and talk to her to gain access to her unique Cataclysm set.
It does not cost any Gold to get these Deluxe Edition armor sets or weapons. They do not come with any inherent bonuses, and are not Enchanted, but the base stats are better than most early-to-mid-level gear – and they look great, too.
How To Get Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition Horse Armor
You must complete each quest to gain access to each associated Oblivion Deluxe Edition Horse Armor set, too. Though the base game gives players access to the original, infamous Steel and Elven Horse Armor, the Cataclysm Horse Armor and Order Horse Armor only unlock once you complete the final step of each questline.
Talk to Snak gra-Bura at the Chestnut Handy Stables, on the west side of the Imperial City, to outfit your current Horse with Deluxe Edition Horse Armor. If you do not have a horse, ask Snak gra-Bura, and she will provide you an Old Nag alongside a free set of basic Horse Armor. It costs 500 Gold to purchase a different Horse Armor, but you get the first, default set for free.
