After you join the Dark Brotherhood in Obliivon Remastered, Vicente Valtieri will provide your initial set of contracts. But after a few quests, the vampire will send you to Ocheeva to continue your advancement through the ranks of the Dark Brotherhood. Here, you will be offered the "The Lonely Wanderer" contract.
Oblivion Remastered: Where To Store Items
There are a handful of storage containers players can use to store items in Oblivion Remastered, including storage chests within an owned home.
This contract requires players to hunt down the location of a High Elf in the Imperial City, then kill him. To get a bonus, you must kill Faelian in a secure location. This complete "The Lonely Wanderer" quest walkthrough guides Oblivion Remastered players through this contract step-by-step, including how to start the quest, where to find Faelian, and how to kill Faelian in a secure location to get the bonus.
How To Start "The Lonely Wanderer" Quest
"The Lonely Wanderer" is the fifth quest in the Dark Brotherhood questline in Oblivion Remastered. To unlock access to this quest, players must join the Dark Brotherhood, then complete all four of Vicente Valtieri's contracts. Once you finish "The Assassinated Man", which requires players to fake Francois Motierre's death, Valtieri will direct you to Ocheeva for future contracts.
Ocheeva is an Argonian and also resides in the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Typically, she can be found reading or sitting at her table in a room connected to the main hall, just before you reach Vicente Valtieri's lair at the back of the Sanctuary.

How To Complete "The Lonely Wanderer" & Get The Contract Bonus
In the Imperial City there lives a High Elf who must be removed from existence. Finding this person may prove... Challenging. Are you interested?
Your goal in the "The Lonely Wanderer" quest is to find and kill a High Elf named Faelian. The only problem is, Faelian is something of an elusive character, and Ocheeva doesn't know where he is.
To get a bonus, you must kill Faelian in a secure location away from the prying eyes of Captain Adamus Phillida, who is already suspicious of Dark Brotherhood activities. If you get caught in the act, or kill Faelian in an insecure location, you will forfeit your bonus.
Step One: How To Find Faelian
To find Faelian, Oblivion Remastered players should first head to the Elven Gardens district of the Imperial City and ask Elf NPCs if they have heard of Faelian. You can ask any NPC, including shopkeepers. Eventually, you will learn that Faelian has been staying at the Tiber Septim Hotel in the Talos Plaza District.
Oblivion Remastered: Which Race Should You Pick?
All Races in Oblivion Remastered have strengths and weaknesses, but the best Oblivion Remastered races offer powerful benefits for specific builds.
Head to the Talos Plaza District of the Imperial City and look for the Tiber Septim Hotel in the middle of the subzone, near the fountain. Talk to the innkeeper to learn that Faelian is staying with a woman in a room, though he is only here for a few hours every night.
You can also run into Faelian by chance, as he spends a lot of time walking between the hotel room and Lorkmir's House, where he also spends much of the day. However, this location is locked until later in the quest, and Faelian will not enter until you trigger that part of the quest.
Step Two: Find Skooma For Faelian
Once you find Faelian, talk to him, and you will quickly realize that a raging Skooma addiction has destroyed this Elf's mind. He will eventually ask, "do you ha... Have any skooma now? Cause... I can be your friend ri... Right now..."
Try not to laugh too hard at Faelian's hilarious dialogue delivery, and return to Faelian once you have some Skooma to give him. You can, of course, kill Faelian at any point during the quest to complete the contract, but if you want a bonus and a unique item, you must kill him in a secure location. Faelian will only trust you enough to go to a secure location if you bring him Skooma.
There are two locations you can get Skooma easily:
- Head to Bravil at around midnight, and look for an NPC named Nordinor in an alleyway on the north side of town. Each bottle of Skooma costs more than 100 Gold for players with a low Mercantile skill or low Disposition, so make sure you have enough.
- Alternatively, you can head straight to Lorkhan's House, a location that Faelian has turned into a Skooma den. Later in the quest, Faelian will invite you back here, but you can break in early and steal the Skooma on the table to fulfill this portion of the quest. You can pickpocket the key to Lorkmir's House from Faelian in the Hotel.
Step Three: Find A Secure Location To Kill Faelian
After you acquire some Skooma, head to the Tiber Septim Hotel, but instead of going inside, wait until around 3 or 4 a.m. When you should see Faelian leave the hotel in the early hours of the morning. Approach him after he exits the hotel, or anywhere on his normal wandering route, and give him your Skooma.
Oblivion Remastered: How To Level Up
The new Oblivion Remastered leveling system combines the best of Oblivion and Skyrim leveling mechanics.
Faelian will remark, "Now that we're... We're friends... You want to come with me? To my... My special place?" Take him up on the offer, and follow him to Lorkmir's House in the Talos Plaza District. This counts as a secure area – Oblivion Remastered players can kill Faelian at any point after you both enter Lorkmir's House to complete the contract and fulfill the "The Lonely Wanderer" bonus requirements.
"The Lonely Wanderer" Quest Rewards & Bonus
For successfully killing Faelian, you will receive a lump sum of Gold as a reward from Ocheeva. However, if you kill Faelian in a secure location, Oblivion Remastered players will also receive a special reward: Shadowhunt, an enchanted Bow that inflicts four effects on hit (Damage Health, Damage Magicka, Turn Undead, and
Weakness to Poison).
Shadowhunt is an exceptionally powerful Bow in Oblivion Remastered, especially for Dark Brotherhood quests, and is worth going out of your way to get if you plan to play a Ranger or Stealth Archer build.
You will also unlock the next part of the Dark Brotherhood questline, and will be able to pick up "Bad Medicine" contract, which requires players to swap a sickly Warlord's medicine with poison without being seen.
