From a multitude of weapons to choose from, Elden Ring players can strategize how they approach enemies in combat. The weapons in Elden Ring allow for a different and distinct playstyle suited to each player's preference. Whether it is the massive Greatswords that can deal mighty blows or the swift Daggers and Rapiers that allow the player to excel in speed, Elden Ring provides it all in its genre-defining smooth and fluid combat system.
The Golden Epitaph not only works as a great sword option but also is a primary target in most faith builds because of the buff skill it provides to the player. For those hoping to acquire this blade, this guide outlines the steps that must be taken to claim it.
Elden Ring: How To Get Sword Of St Trina
Sword of St Trina is a great weapon that can be picked up early in an Elden Ring playthrough. Here is how to find the sword.
Where To Find Golden Epitaph In Elden Ring
You will have to reach Auriza Hero's Grave, which is located in Atlus Plateau. From the Atlus Highway Junction Site of Grace, you need to go east and then up the massive staircase, ignoring the enemies on the way.
You will approach an open gate that two Tree Sentinels are guarding. You can either lure them away and fight them one at a time or completely ignore them and head straight towards the Outer Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace. From the Site of Grace, you need to follow the northeast path and stay on the road at all times to reach the Hero's Grave.
Inside the Hero's Grave, make your way to the elevator that will take you down. There will be a Site of Grace up ahead, as well as a fog door that is locked by the Imp Seal Statue.
Using a Stonesword Key will allow you to unlock the Fog Gate and head inside the small room. Be cautious, as there are two Basilisk enemies in the room that can cause Deathblight if not dealt with quickly. After dealing with them, interact with the corpse lying on the ground to acquire the Golden Epitaph.
Elden Ring: How to Get to Nokron Eternal City
Defeating Radahn opens the entrance to Nokron, Eternal City in Elden Ring, but where exactly is the entrance to this hidden area?
What Does The Golden Epitaph Do?
- The weapon requires 12 Strength, 10 Dexterity, and 14 Faith to use.
The Golden Epitaph does not have a passive skill, and its unique skill is called the Last Rites. It costs 25 FP to use and lasts for 60 seconds. The skill grants the effect of Sacred Order to yourself and all allies in the vicinity. This increases all damage types done by Armaments by 10%.
The weapon requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade, and at max level, it has a D scaling with Strength, D scaling with Dexterity, and C scaling with Faith. So, the only Stat scaling that changes throughout the levels is Faith. Though the weapon does not do much in the Stat region, it does have high Physical and Holy damage that increases as the weapon is upgraded to the max.
