FromSoftware always has a traditional way of adding Gestures to their games. These gestures allow players to express their actions in front of other online players in a game that does not have other means of communication. However, there are some gestures in Elden Ring that have more importance than the rest purely because they can be used to advance questlines or obtain unique items.

Finger Snap is one of the gestures that is more than a way to express oneself. It can be acquired very early on in the game in Limgrave and is necessary in order to complete a questline of one of the game's fan-favorite characters.

How To Get Finger Snap Gesture In Elden Ring

After exploring a bit of Limgrave, you will find yourself at the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace, which is towards the East side of the map. The first step will be to change the time of day to Night by interacting with the site of grace. From the site of grace, summon your mount, Torrent, and head south into the forest until you reach the Mistwood Ruins.

A few Runbears are roaming in the area of the Ruins, so be on the lookout, as they can be quite difficult to face early on in the game.

Inside the Ruins, you will start to hear howling noises, but you can not interact with whatever is making these sounds.

Open your map and travel to the Church of Elleh, which should be to the North of The First Step Site of Grace. Inside the Chuch, you will find Merchant Kalé, who buys and sells equipment that you can find useful throughout the game. Interact with Kale, and there will be an option to talk about the howling in Mistwood. He will tell you that Blaidd resides in the Ruins and will give you the Finger Snap gesture that you will need to proceed in Blaidd's questline.

To use the gesture, players need to go to the Gestures section in the pause menu (located underneath the Pouch items). Highlight one of the gestures, and then press Triangle (PS4/PS5) or Y (Xbox) to switch the gesture to the Finger Snap gesture.
