This Elden Ring clip showcases a moment that should remind every player traversing The Lands Between to always fear the Lobsters. The world of Elden Ring, as vast and far-reaching as it is, is home to many dangerous enemies, be them humanoid or monstrous. While in one corner of this world, players will encounter Ulcerated Tree Spirits that can reach through walls to grab the player, while in another corner there are Glintstone Mages that will pelt gamers with their spells. However, among them there are creatures that are meant to be feared, and every so often there will be a reminder as to why.
The Lands Between is no stranger to its fair share of gigantic creatures. One of the more notable of these would be the Rune Bears, gigantic bears that can decimate players in an instant. Some consider them so dangerous that a player accused Rune Bears of reading their inputs. However, another beast that the players of Elden Ring fear is the Lobsters, or more specifically the Giant Crayfish. Usually inhabiting the swamps of Liurnia of the Lakes, these beasts are well known for their unpredictable attack patterns and deadly accurate ranged attacks.
Coming across one should always result in fear, yet the player in this story was foolish enough to underestimate the power of Elden Ring's lobsters. Posting to r/Eldenring, user Zuuly177 uploaded a clip of them coming across a lobster while on Torrent. The player went to jump over the lobster, as Torrent the spirit steed has a good jump, so it wouldn't be too hard to clear a lobster. However, as they landed on the other side of the lobster, another lobster emerged from the depths of the swamps, right in front of them. Then the clip ended with the "We'll Be Right Back" meme.
The use of the meme does make the video have a striking similarity to another lobster encounter video, where a player attacking a lobster saw the Elden Ring lobster jump atop a tree to snipe the player. The struggles players have with the Giant Lobsters seem to be universal, as there are also comments about how other players have been defeated by these two specific lobsters. This surprise attack is definitely not one in a krillion.
Ultimately, the footage is a lesson to never underestimate any enemy in Elden Ring, for there is sure to be a surprise in store for any player that takes the game lightly. Whether it's underestimating Elden Ring's Castle Sol Knights, or even the first enemies in the game, at some point there will be a punishment. Always be aware, and always take care while traversing The Lands Between.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
