Whips in Elden Ring are an amazing weapon to have at your side. They cover a large area in front of you (making them wonderful for roll-catching in PvP), and they're the perfect tool to handle dogs or other aggressive, small enemies.

The Tooth Whip in Shadow of the Erdtree is both a gruesome and an obnoxious armament to wield against your fellow Tarnished. It inflicts poison damage and has a unique Ash of War that can be debilitating for builds that rely heavily on their stamina.

Tooth Whip Overview: Stat Requirements, Effects, & Skill

Tooth Whip icon in Elden Ring

Whip bestrewn with rotting, misshapen teeth. Filthy and seething with disease, the teeth are embedded in the whip and dose the victim with deadly poison upon each strike.

As the wounds ripen they grow inflamed and ooze pus. The flesh of shamans was said to meld harmoniously with others.

The Tooth Whip has a weight of 3, and its attacks are strikes. What makes this whip unique is how it's the only whip in Elden Ring that has poison damage built into it. When it's paired with another poison weapon like Venomous Fang, you can get fairly quick and consistent poison applications on enemies to whittle down their HP. Having it on a whip also makes it wonderful for PvP, where you can swap to this whip and catch enemies who are trying to flee from you.

The Tooth Whip can be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones to +10 and cannot benefit from spell-based or consumable weapon buffs.

Tooth Whip Weapon Skill: Painful Strike

The Tooth Whip's Ash of War is Painful Strike, which cannot be changed. Painful Strike will have your tarnished twirl the whip to their left before lashing out in front of them at the whip's maximum range. Each hit of this Ash of War applies a debuff that slows down Stamina regeneration in addition to its regular poison damage. If you wanted to punish builds that require heavy stamina usage like Rivers of Blood, this Ash of War is the perfect way to stall out their build.

This weapon skill costs 16 FP to cast, and cannot be chained into a follow-up attack.

A chastening whip strike, honed to maximize pain. Temporarily reduces the rate at which stamina recovers. Thus does the pain encourage obedience

Where To Find Tooth Whip Location

Route to Teeth Whip on map in Elden Ring

The Bone Whip is found on a body in the Whipping Hut. To get there, start in the Bonny Village Site of Grace (it's to the east of the Moorth Ruins).

From there, here are the steps to get the whip once you get to that Site of Grace:

  1. Head into the village and immediately start heading to the east. Fighting enemies is optional, and if you're on Torrent, you can easily sprint past all of them.
  2. Continue eastward until you hit the broken bridge. Look to the south for a section where the gap narrows enough for you to jump over it with Torrent and continue down the eastward path.
  3. Cross the bridge, and to your right is the Whipping Hut.
  4. Go into the Whipping Hut and the Teeth Whip will be on a desiccated body on the floor.
