How To Get The Watchful Spirit Incantation In Shadow Of The Erdtree
To acquire the Watchful Spirit Incantation, you must perform three crucial steps:
- Find a corresponding key to unlock the Storeroom in Belurat Tower Settlement.
- Find the NPC Grandam in a Storeroom, southwest of the Small Private Altar Site of Grace.
- Defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, the main dungeon boss.
Where To Find The NPC Storeroom In Belurat
- Head southeast from the Site of Grace, and once you reach a circular fountain, turn south to go up the stairs.
- The stairs will lead you to another passage. Travel along the length of the passage while heading southeast, and go up a ramp under a large archway.
- Once you exit the ramp, take an immediate left, and enter through a small arched door to enter a building.

Use the stairs within this building, and go all the way up to discover the Small Private Altar Site of Grace. This Site of Grace provides you with quick access to find the
Storeroom Key
and the NPC.
- To the southwest of the Small Private Altar Site of Grace is a walkway that leads you to a locked door. Inside this door is an NPC you must meet. Unlocking the door requires finding the Storeroom key.

How To Get The Storeroom Key In Belurat Tower Settlement
- To find the key, use the northwestern exit from the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, and go up two sets of stairs past the Horned Warrior.
- As soon as you exit the second set of stairs, take an immediate right, and follow the corridor until you reach a stream of muddy water.
- Head southwest along the muddy stream, and once you clear the overhead bridge, look for a building to your northwest — enter it.
- Use the ladder inside this building to reach a wooden platform, then pick up the Storeroom Key from the corpse.
Speak To The NPC In The Storeroom
- Fast travel back to the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, and unlock the NPC Storeroom. Inside, you’ll find a senior Hornsent NPC named Grandam. Speak to the NPC and exhaust all her dialogues.
- The next step is to defeat Belurat Settlement's main boss – the Divine Beast Dancing Lion!
Defeat The Divine Beast Dancing Lion
- The Divine Beast Dancing Lion can be found by heading northeast from the building where you picked up the Storeroom Key. You must use the exit on the wooden platform where the key was found, and head all the way northeast. Eventually, you'll find the Stagefront Site of Grace, outside the boss's room.

Once you beat the boss, discover the Theatre of the Divine Beast Site of Grace, which appears after defeating the boss. Rest at the Site of Grace, and then look around the arena to find
Divine Beast Head
helm.
Return To Grandam To Receive The Watchful Spirit Incantation
- Equip the Divine Beast Head helm, and then speak to the NPC in the Storeroom near the Small Private Altar Site of Grace.
- After you exhaust all her dialogue, you’ll be rewarded with the Watchful Spirit Incantation.

The Watchful Spirit is a Spiral Incantation, and it requires one spell slot to equip. Casting this Incantation costs 12 FP and 20 Stamina.
The spell, when cast, conjures a floating skull on the Tarnished’s head. Three individual skulls are released from the floating spell that track enemies and deal moderate damage.
The Incantation can be effective against larger groups of enemies who tend to have lower health.
While you cannot charge this spell, you can cast it while riding Torrent. Casting Watchful Spirit using the Spiraltree Seal further enhances its effectiveness.
