In Elden Ring, Imbued Sword Keys are valuable and rare items used to unlock portals sealed by imp statues. The base game features three such portals and three Imbued Sword Key s scattered throughout the Lands Between. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion introduces another locked portal, requiring players to embark on a quest to find the Imbued Sword Key hidden in the DLC.
To obtain the Imbued Sword Key, you will need to explore Castle Ensis, one of the first legacy dungeons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. This area serves as one of the two entrances to Scadu Altas. Just after leaving Castle Ensis, you can find a locked portal next to a river that requires one Imbued Sword Key. Elden Ring: Rare Items That Are Easy To Miss
With how many items there are in Elden Ring and its DLC, players are bound to miss out on some of the rare things in FromSoftware's masterpiece.
Imbued Sword Key Location In Shadow Of The Erdtree
To get the Imbued Sword Key, you will first have to reach Castle Ensis. Follow the path going north from Gravesite Plain to find the bridge leading to Castle Ensis. As you cross the bridge, you will find the Castle Front site of grace.
From there, head north up the hill to find the Castle Ensis Checkpoint site of grace. The path ahead is locked behind a door. You will have to drop down the cliff south of the grace to find a waterfall. Look for a ladder to take you behind the door, where you can find a lever to open it.
Be sure to unlock the door for easier access if you die.
After opening the door, take the bridge and start heading up the hill to the south.
Be cautious of hidden mages and wild dogs in the area.
Go past the teleporting mages to find Moonrithyll, Carian Knight guarding the entrance. You can either fight him to obtain his colossal sword or run past him to the upper area of Castle Ensis.
Once you reach the roof, open the gate and go east until you find a wooden stairway leading up to a Black Knight. Climb the stairway and, instead of going toward the Black Knight, turn back to find a chest in a small room. This chest contains the only Imbued Sword Key in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Alternative Route To The Imbued Sword Key
If you have fought Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, or have already reached the Castle-Lord's Chamber site of grace, there is an easier way to get to the Imbued Sword Key. From the Castle-Lord’s Chamber, take the lift to the south and go past the Black Knight to find the room with a chest holding the Imbued Sword Key.

There are fourteen new NPC questlines in Shadow of the Erdtree, but it's not too hard to find most of these new DLC quest start locations.
Where To Use The Imbued Sword Key In Elden Ring DLC
You can use the Imbued Sword Key at the imp statue located next to the river west of the Highroad Cross site of grace. This site of grace is located just outside Rellana, Twin Moon Knight’s arena. You can unlock it after defeating her or by taking the Spiritspring Jump shortcut sealed behind the Fort of Reprimand and following the path north.
Once you are at the Highroad Cross site of grace, jump down into the river west, where a troll knight spirit is patrolling. Climb the small hill next to the river to find a locked teleporter with an imp statue next to it. You can use the Imbued Sword Key to unlock the portal. This portal will take you to a locked area in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, where you will find the 
Verdigris Discus Talisman.
