The Realm of Shadow introduces new areas, bosses, and items for players to explore and acquire in the new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Hand-to-Hand art weapons are some of the best additions to the game as they bring in a new, quick-paced, and versatile close-range combat for players to enjoy.
One of the new Ashes of War, the Dryleaf Whirlwind, can only be used for these weapons and allows the players to have a multi-hitting skill that can be useful in a lot of situations. The guide below shows the location of the Ash of War as well as good Talisman synergies.
Igon Full Quest Walkthrough – Shadow of the Erdtree
Igon's quest in the Elden Ring DLC involves fighting and defeating Bayle the Dread alongside Igon to receive his armor set and weapons.
Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind – Overview & Weapon Types
This Ash of War grants no affinity to an armament, but imparts the following skill:
"Dryleaf Whirlwind: This skill represents the pinnacle of Dane's footwork-based martial artistry. Rise into the air with a series of spinning kicks before crashing down with one final strike. Imbues kicking attacks with energy, increasing their range."
In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,
Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind is a new Ash of War that grants its equipped weapon the Standard affinity. The Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind weapon types include Hand-to-Hand Art.
When you use this Ash of War, your character will leap into the air and perform multiple spinning kicks. The Weapon Skill finishes up with a landing strike, which can stagger an enemy. One of the drawbacks is that there is only one weapon in the game that this Ash of War can be infused with.
This Ash of War is better than Palm Blast in the sense that it is quick to initiate and is a multi-hitting attack. The
Shattered Stone Talisman,
Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, and
Shard of Alexander are all great options to go for when trying this Ash of War, as not only will the damage of the kicks increase but also your Attack Power.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Death Knight Full Fight
The Death Knight is found in the Fog Rift Catacombs and wields lightening attacks as they try to topple the player. Here is our full fight against the
Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind costs 9 FP to use and cannot be charged to increase its power.
Where To Find Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind Location
To get
Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind in the Elden Ring DLC, you will have to reach Shadow Keep in Scadu Altus. From the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace, you will have to reach the West Rampart Grace. Head further west to reach Viaduct Minor Tower and interact with the Grace there. Summon your Torrent and follow the main path here, going through the pathway below the trees. Head down into the Underground Ruins and turn right at the extreme end.
There should be a huge door that is closed, and you can ignore it to head left and fall down. There should be another closed door in front of you, so turn left and head through the small opening. You will come out into an open room with multiple Spider Scorpions. Ignore them, press on southeast, and turn right as you exit the room.
Take the next right and fall down the massive hole, but do not worry; you will land on a Spiritspring, so you will not take any damage. Head northwest past the second Spiritspring, and you will reach a doorway from where you have to head left. Stick to the southeast direction going past the multiple columns on your left.
Stray a little bit to the east, and you will be able to spot an item near the edge of the waterfall. Loot it to acquire the Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind.
