Traveling to and from the Land of Shadow is actually quite simple in Shadow of the Erdtree. However, the game itself does not go out of its way to show or tell you how to exit the Land of Shadow. This guide will explain how to accomplish this feat, and make sure players can return to the Roundtable Hold.
How to Get Back to The Lands Between in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Can You Leave the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC?
When you first enter the Realm of Shadow, there will be so much to see and do, you likely will not think about returning to the Roundtable Hold or the Lands Between. With multiple new weapon types to acquire, and new boons like Shadow of the Erdtree's Scadutree Blessings , you will be thoroughly occupied. However, what happens when you acquire Elden Ring's new Anvil Hammer, and you want to upgrade it at the forge? This is when you realize that
Needle Knight Leda never told you how to leave the Realm of Shadow in the Elden Ring DLC.
Many modern DLC's make you utilize a specific travel mechanism to switch between maps, but Shadow of the Erdtree makes it far less complicated to travel between the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow. The simple answer is that you can simply fast-travel back and forth between regions, as if the Realm of Shadow were simply another part of the base game. When you open the map, press Y/ Triangle to open up the list of sites of grace, and use the bumpers (LB/RB or L1/R1) to switch regions. You can also press X/Square to return to the Table of Lost Grace at the Roundtable Hold. There you can upgrade your weapons and spirit ashes.
Luckily, anyone asking if they can leave the Realm of Shadow and return to the Roundtable Hold, will be happy to know the answer is yes. Simply fast-travel between the Rountable Hold, the Lands Between, and the Realm of Shadow. This will work just like it is any other location.
