Stone Coffin Fissure is an optional area that can be accessed early in the game. However, not all players can enter the Fissures, as there is a prerequisite before entering the area. Inside the Stone Coffin Fissure, players will have to cross several broken stone structures filled with holes, making one fall through them.
Putrescent Knight is a boss located at the end of this area, and defeating it grants access to an NPC's quest line. This guide includes a step-by-step walkthrough on how players can reach Putrescent Knight in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

How To Reach Stone Coffin Fissure
To reach Stone Coffin Fissure, you must first make your way to the Cerulean Coast, accessible via Charo's Hidden Grave or Ellac River. From the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace, start riding south on your Torrent, going past the Ghostflame Dragon. Towards the southwest, you will soon arrive at a giant stone structure. Head straight until you reach a field with a huge crater in the middle. You can drop down platform by platform and eventually reach the entrance to Stone Coffin Fissure.
If you arrive at the Stone Coffin Fissure early on, you might notice the entrance is sealed. A message stating somewhere a Great Rune has broken will pop up. To open up the Seal Elden Ring, players must get close to the Shadow Keep, a Legacy Dungeon located in Scadu Altus.
How To Get To Putrescent Knight
From the Stone Coffin Fissure Site of Grace, head south, jump down to the stone structure where you can spot one Bloodfiend enemy, then jump further south, crossing to the other side. At the end of this path, you will be able to drop down to an area filled with multiple Bloodfiend enemies. Run past them and head east until you reach the Fissure Cross Site of Grace. Proceed ahead and jump down to the stone structures up ahead. There are several Gravebirds and
Abnormal Stone Cluster in this area that you can ignore and run past, but some of these Stone Clusters constantly shoot Sorcery beams at you, which can deal quite some damage.
Deal with these enemies as you approach them; otherwise, they will shoot you even if you run past them.
When you encounter the second Stone Cluster, deal with it and go right off it. Ignore the Cluster on top and head northwest to the last Stone Cluster in the area. Deal with it and jump down towards the northeast direction, where you need to keep going until you reach the Fissure Waypoint Site of Grace.
Reaching The Fissure Depths And The Boss
Jump across to the other side on the path to the northeast, then take the right path leading to a giant Slime creature. Head right of this enemy past the Skeletal enemies. Here, you must jump across a few platforms to reach the final stone structure before the Fissure Depths Site of Grace. Head southwest up the staircases and jump down at the end of the path. You will fall for a short while before reaching the boss arena for Putrescent Knight.
