Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree introduces several new cookbooks that greatly expand players' crafting options. Whether it's recipes that focus heavily on unique items of the Golden Order, or the expanded list of St. Trina's sleep-based items, players will find a wide range of new tools to augment their builds. While most of these new cookbooks feature only a handful of volumes, there is one that features far more: Greater Potentate's Cookbooks. This group of cookbooks focuses entirely on recipes for the new Hefty Cracked Pots. - The first Greater Potentate's Cookbook is found in the Scorched Ruins, one of the first points of interest (POI) players are likely to encounter after entering the Realm of Shadow. As you approach the Scorched Ruins, you'll notice the path runs straight through the center of the ruins. On one side, you'll see a multi-tiered terrace with several enemy specters. Reach the second tier to find the Greater Potentate's Cookbook 1 sitting in the lap of a dead body.
The Hefty Fire Pot recipe learned from collecting this cookbook will come in handy during the Armored Furnace Golem fights you'll encounter later in the game. For that reason, along with the fact that the Hefty Fire Pot is an incredibly powerful throwing weapon, it is worth acquiring Greater Potentate's Cookbook 1 as early as possible.

Hefty Furnace Pot Recipe
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook 2 is found at the Run-Down Traveler's Rest, a small shack beneath the Ellac Greatbridge. To reach the shack, head south from the Greatbridge, North site of grace. As you make your way down, it'll be impossible to miss the building. It looks very similar to the rundown shacks that make up the Abandoned Ailing Village.
The Hefty Furnace Pot recipe plays an important role in acquiring the Sword of Darkness later in the game. Crafting this particular weapon will allow you to activate the Furnace Golem blocking the entrance to the Ruins of Unte.

Hefty Oil Pot Recipe
- Greater Potentae's Cookbook 3 is found on a small ledge across from the upper level of Fog Rift Fort in Gravesite Plain. However, to reach the fort, you'll need to reach Scadu Altus. From the Scadu Altus, West site of grace, head west to the edge of the cliff, and look down. Below, you'll see several rock ledges that you can use to descend to the fort. Once you make it to the first tower, climb down the ladder and head through the second tower. As soon as you exit the tower, turn to the right to find a wooden platform that leads to a small bridge. This bridge takes you to Greater Potentate's Cookbook 3.

Hefty Magic Pot Recipe
- The fourth Greater Potentate's Cookbook is found on the eastern side of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, on the edge of the water that surrounds the building. Look for a large group of Marionette Soldiers standing around an item marker, and you'll find it. To reach this area, you'll have to go through the Moorth Ruins to Bonny Village, then follow the main path northeast until you reach the cathedral.

Magic Lightning Pot Recipe
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook 5 is found in the small wooded area north of the Church of Benediction, on the plateau that rises on the western edge of Gravesite Plain. Head to the area marked on the map above to find a group of Lightning Rams gathered around a dead body sitting on a large rock. The cookbook is found with the body. To reach this area, head southeast from the Main Gate Cross site of grace, outside Belurat, Tower Settlement. Heading back towards the rock arch, you'll find a path on the right that leads to the top of the plateau. Follow the main path past Prospect Town, then south until you reach the wooded area. When you start to see Lightning Rams, you know you're in the right area.

Hefty Red Lightning Pot
- To reach Greater Potentate's Cookbook 6, you'll want to start at the Dragon's Pit Terminus site of grace. This will require you to make your way through the Dragon's Pit cave, and defeat the Ancient Dragon-Man boss. Once complete, head east until the route splits, then stay on the northern section of the route. Head all the way to the end, to the point where you reach the Spirtspring, which will take you further up Jagged Peak. Before doing that, head north to the edge of the cliff. You'll find several Farum Azula skelton enemies gathering around a dead body on the edge. The cookbook is found with the body.

Hefty Poison Pot Recipe
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook 7 is found along the path to the Elder's Hovel in Gravesite Plain. Follow the path east from Castle Front, sticking to the right at the first split. As you reach the area where Bloodfiends and Messmer Soldiers are fighting, stick to the left and follow the path under the rock arch. If you continue north you'll begin to encounter several poisonous pools. Head to the pool closest to the rock wall that acts as a border between Gravesite Plain and Scadu Altus. You'll see the Giant Miranda Sprout in the pool, and the cookbook will be on the ground right next to it.

- To acquire Greater Potentate's Cookbook 8, you'll want to head north from the Temple Town Ruins area in Rauh Base. If you have access to the Scorpion River Catacombs site of grace already, you can simply begin there. If not, follow the path north from Temple Town Ruins, then head all the way to the west as the path turns. Once you reach the western edge, head north along the cliff, and you will quickly find the eighth cookbook sitting on top of a large pile of some type of waste.

To get Greater Potentate's Cookbook 9, you'll need to head to the western section of the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. From the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West site of grace, head into the structure, up the stairs, then straight through the chamber to the water garden. Head past the gazebo and the Honred Warriors, and into the next chamber with several Kindred of Rot. Head to the end of this chamber, then make a right into the next. Go through to the outdoors, where you'll find the invisible bridge that leads to the
Sword of Light
altar. Instead of crossing, turn around, and you'll find cookbook 9 with a dead body at the top of a pile of rocks.
