How To Reach Belurat, Tower Settlement
Begin your journey in Gravesite Plains, the starting area of the DLC. Ride north from the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace and avoid gaining the attention of the Furnace Golem. You’ll eventually find the Three-Path Site of Grace and the NPC Redmane Freyja.
Speak to Freyja before resting at the Site of Grace, and then ride west through a large archway carved into the hill. After a short ride, you’ll find the Main Gate Site of Grace outside Belurat, Tower Settlement at a distance. You’ll also find two more NPCs by the Site of Grace, Ansbach and
Moore. Speak to them and proceed to rest at the Site of Grace.
It’s also advised to equip any spells, Ashes of War, or mix the Wondrous Flask of Physick before heading into the dungeon.
The recommended Scadutree Blessing level is 5 for clearing Belurat, Tower Settlement.
Ideal Dungeon Progression Path
Once you enter the dungeon, the progression is quite linear. You will discover three Sites of Grace, with the final being outside the boss's room. The three Sites of Grace are:
- Belurat, Tower Settlement
- Small Private Altar
- Stagefront
The following guide will help you traverse from the first Site of Grace to the next while ensuring that you collect all important items along the way.
Reaching Belurat, Tower Settlement Site of Grace
Entering Belurat, Tower Settlement is as simple as going up the long flight of stairs and then interacting with the iron door to open it. From here, you'll make your way to discover the Belurat, Tower Settlement Site of Grace. Beware of the giant scorpion that awaits in ambush as you enter the dungeon.
From the door, it's a linear path to the first item in the dungeon: a Revered Spirit Ash, located at the base of the giant hornsent statue. Now, head up the curved stairs. Use the one on the left instead of the right to avoid getting caught off guard by another giant scorpion.
Deal with the scorpion, and then head up another large set of stairs to your northwest. Midway up the stairs, another giant scorpion will ambush you, so be prepared to deal with it. Continue heading up the stairs until you reach a locked iron door and the Belurat Tower Settlement Site of Grace. Rest at the Grace, and prepare for the next leg of your journey.

A complete guide to Shadow of the Erdtree's largest legacy dungeon, Shadow Keep.
Reaching the Small Private Altar Site Of Grace
Proceed southeast from the Belurat, Tower Settlement Site of Grace. Keep heading in this direction until you arrive at a circular fountain. You'll find a bunch of enemies here, and beware of the tall shadow enemy wielding a curved sword.
You can pick up a
Knot Resin and
Stimulating Boluses from around the fountain, and once done, use the southeastern stairs to find yourself in a long alley. Turning west, you'll find four shadow enemies praying around a fountain. At the base of the fountain is also a Somber Smithing Stone [3].
To the south of the fountain is a well. This leads you to the Well Depths, an area you'll unlock after finding the Well Depths Key.
Now, turn around and head southeast through the alley. Beware of the two enemies on the overhead bridge spamming incantations at you. Run through this alley, and once you're past the overhead bridge, enter through an arched doorway to your immediate left.
Deal with any pursuing enemies, or just head up the stairs to discover the Small Private Altar Site of Grace. Rest at the grace, and then get ready to explore the dungeon more.
Progressing To the Stagefront Site Of Grace
To progress further into Belurat, Tower Settlement, exit the Small Private Altar through the northwestern doorway to find yourself in yet another small room. This room opens to two different paths, one leading southwestern and the other to the north.
Taking the southwestern path, you'll find the two mage enemies who were spamming magic at you while you tried to get past the overhead bridge. At the end of this overhead bridge is a locked storeroom with an NPC inside. Unlocking the storeroom requires a corresponding key, which you shall find shortly. You can also access the rooftops of some structures by jumping over the bridge. Exploring the rooftops, you can collect a
Silver Horn Tender and a Somber Smithing Stone [4].
To explore the dungeon further, you must head north from the Small Private Altar Site of Grace.

Head deep into the Darklight Catacombs to find the Death Knight set in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Ash Of War & NPC Invasion
Heading north from the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, you'll encounter a patrolling Horned Warrior, a challenging enemy. Fortunately, this enemy won't be alerted if you sneak past him. Once you've created some distance between yourself and the Horned Warrior, head northeast to arrive at a withered spiral tree. Circle around the tree to find a corpse with the Shriek of Sorrow Ash of War.
At this location, you'll also be invaded by an NPC named
Fire Knight Queelign, who can be extremely challenging to deal with. Fire Knight Queelign welds a long-range spear and uses attacks. If you happen to defeat this enemy for the first time in your playthrough, you'll be rewarded with the
Crusade Insignia talisman.
However, if it's your second time beating him, you'll receive the Flame Skewer Ash of War and a
Prayer Room Key. If you're interested, you can complete Fire Knight Queelign's quest using this dedicated guide.
Acquiring the Storeroom Key
With Fire Knight Queelign defeated, turn southwest and head out the same way as you arrived at the withering spiral tree. Once you reach the rubble, use it to reach the rooftops of ruined houses and head northwest to find a narrow alley.
Progress through the alley to find a stream of what appears to be dirty water and follow it a short distance south. As the path comes to an end, turn northwest, head inside a building, and use the ladders to reach a wooden platform. On this platform, you can collect the Storeroom Key from a corpse.
Acquiring Well Depths Key
With the Storeroom Key acquired, exit the wooden platform through the northwestern archway. Turning south, you'll find a set of stairs going down. Approach the stairs while hugging the eastern wall, and once you're at the end of the wall, turn southeast to discover a terracotta ledge. Jump on the ledge, and follow it all the way to its end, and then turn northeast. Sprint and jump from the ledge to land on the northeastern walkway. Head southeast to enter a room and pick up the Well Depths Key from a corpse.
You now have both the Storeroom Key and Well Depths Key to access the NPC Storeroom and an additional area in the dungeon. You'll be using these items towards the end of this guide.

Unlocking Shortcut To the Belurat, Tower Settlement Site Of Grace
To unlock a shortcut to the Belurat, Tower Settlement Site of Grace, begin from the wooden platform where you collected the Storeroom Key, and then head out from the northwestern exit.
Head up the northern stairs to arrive at a beaten path. Turn northwest and head down a short set of stairs before immediately turning southeast to go down another flight of stairs. The stairs will lead you to an elevator, which can be used to reach the other side of the locked iron gate outside the Belurat, Tower Settlement Site of Grace. Here, you can pull a lever facing the door to unlock the door and, consequently, create a shortcut.
Miquella's Cross & Scadutree Fragment
Get back on the elevator and ride it up. Exit the elevator and follow the northern stairs into a scorpion pit. Here, you can pick up the
Bone Bow, but beware of the two giant scorpions in the pit, as they can make your life miserable.
Exiting the scorpion pit, turn northeast and navigate through the rubble to find an arched entrance. Use it to find yourself inside a building, and head east to discover one of Miquella's Crosses and a Scadutree Fragment nearby.
Collect the Scadutree Fragment and exit the building using the southern exit. You'll be on a broken balcony with a lion's temple to your east. Inside the temple is the Dried Bouquet talisman waiting to be claimed.
Drop from the balcony to the flooded area, which you can explore for some crafting materials. Once that's done, head northeast to climb a ladder. This ladder will take you closer to the dungeon's final boss.
