Summary

  • Elden Ring players are dominating tough bosses with a unique Bubble Shower build, making the game easier for some.
  • The "DootDoot" Build wields the Envoy's Long Horn Warhammer, bombarding enemies with bubbles for powerful damage.
  • The Bubble Shower skill can be devastating against large foes, concentrating damage like a shotgun blast to melt bosses.

Elden Ring players are defeating some of the game's largest and toughest bosses with a unique bubble build. Since it was released in 2022, FromSoftware's open-world action RPG has seen the popularization of a variety of broken strategies that arguably messed with the overall balance of the game, and even now, new approaches to Elden Ring's many challenging boss fights are still emerging.

While Elden Ring -- and FromSoftware games in general -- have fostered a reputation for unforgivingly punishing gameplay, some fans have made it their mission to fully exploit the title's deep spellcasting system and its wide arsenal of weapons to tilt the scales in their favor. There are already dozens of videos and guides showcasing the most overpowered builds in Elden Ring, with some of these loadouts even capable of turning the game's most challenging boss fights into a breeze. Now, another game-breaking build has resurfaced within the community, though its unique choice of weapon might raise some eyebrows.

Several Elden Ring players shared videos of what has been colloquially dubbed the "DootDoot" Build, which made use of the Envoy's Long Horn Warhammer weapon along with appropriately leveled Faith and Strength stats. While the weapon itself isn't bad, boasting respectable damage, solid range, and decent attack speed for a Warhammer, its most interesting element is its Bubble Shower Ash of War, which is an exclusive skill to the Envoy's Long Horn that bombards a wide area with bubbles.

On its own, Bubble Shower is a decent area denial skill capable of forcing opponents back during PvP or wiping out a clumped group of enemies in PvE. However, the build truly shines when up against towering enemies, such as the Fire Giant and dragon enemies similar to Dragonlord Placidusax. Each bubble summoned by Bubble Shower does a small amount of damage. When spread out in a wide area as intended, the effect isn't anything noteworthy. However, suppose a player activates the Ash of War when close to a large foe. In that scenario, the damage is concentrated onto one target, similar to a shotgun blast at point-blank range, which is enough to melt even the toughest bosses in Elden Ring under an onslaught of bubbles.

Shadow of the Erdtree Adds New Weapons for New Challenges

One of the biggest draws of Elden Ring has always been its offerings of weapons and tools, allowing players to, in a way, personalize their character's harrowing journey through the Lands Between. Now, with the upcoming expansion's release closing in day by day, players are wondering what builds will come with the DLC and how current loadouts might fare against Shadow of the Erdtree's enemies.
