This variety carries over to enemy and boss design, with Elden Ring featuring some of video gaming's toughest foes. These bosses can be a real challenge for players, with Elden Ring granting players the ability to team up in order to tackle sections of the game. However, not everyone plays nice, with one player sharing their disappointing encounter.

A video shared to the Elden Ring community on Reddit is garnering a wide range of reactions, with user Croxsy sharing the moment they were denied a hefty sum of runes. The video shows that the player was summoned to help another player defeat the early-game Elden Ring boss Godrick the Grafted. However, as soon as Godrick was vanquished, the host seemingly kicked the player out of their game, causing them to not receive any runes despite their help during the fight.

Runes act as the main form of currency in Elden Ring, affecting player progression and leveling up. All enemies grant runes, but bosses in Elden Ring grant the most runes, making them the primary way of leveling up and continuing through the game. "I helped this random kill Godrick and he kicked me out after the kill so I don't get the runes," says the player, who was understandably quite aggravated by this encounter.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Elden Ring's first official DLC, which releases later this year. This massive new expansion, officially titled Elden Ring: Shadkow of the Erdtree, rolls out on June 21, 2024, and will add a massive new area for players to discover and play through. New enemies, items, weapons, and storylines will also be added along with the expansion, allowing Elden Ring to feel fresh and new again despite some players already sinking hundreds of hours in the base game. A trailer for this expansion was released earlier this year by From Software and publisher Bandai Namco, giving fans a closer look at this highly anticipated piece of new content.
