An Elden Ring player managed to defeat the infamous Malenia, Blade of Miquella at a mere Level 1 thanks to the Lion’s Claw Ash of War attack. The vast open world of Elden Ring is filled with dangerous bosses, and Malenia is considered by many to be one of the most famous and powerful of all. While Malenia is an optional boss, she is quite difficult to defeat and is deeply tied to the lore of the Elden Ring universe.
Despite her immense power, many Elden Ring players have managed to get the better of Malenia using creative tricks and character builds. One especially noteworthy player by the handle of Let Me Solo Her has gained fame by taking Malenia down thousands of times wearing only a ceramic jar on their head and wielding twin katanas. Others have scored their own impressive victories against Malenia without taking any hits and using only melee kick attacks, and one streamer even managed to win against two clones of her at once.
Yet another skilled Elden Ring player by the Reddit handle of gilfordtan has just joined the list of Tarnished to beat Malenia in a spectacular fashion. They posted a clip of this battle to r/Eldenring, demonstrating how they managed to deplete the Blade of Miquella’s health while only being at Level 1 themselves. Still, they managed to survive Malenia’s attacks long enough to see her transform into her even stronger Goddess of Rot form, and delivered the final blow in the form of the Ash of War skill named Lion’s Claw.
While gilfordtan has defeated Malenia in their latest session of Elden Ring, fans have likely not seen the last of this powerful enemy. Just last week, FromSoftware announced Elden Ring’s first DLC expansion, titled Shadow of the Erdtree. This bonus campaign is said to be focused around Malenia’s twin brother Miquella, and fans naturally suspect it will finally shed some light on the Shadows that Empyreans like the siblings command.
In the meantime, dedicated Elden Ring players continue to show their skills by defeating challenging bosses like Malenia, Blade of Miquella in interesting and creative ways. In the case of gilfordtan, felling this deadly warrior at a measly Level 1 was just a manner of bidding their time until the right moment to unleash a powerful Ash of War technique. There really is no wrong way to play Elden Ring, and the gameplay videos that fans share help keep one of 2022’s biggest releases alive ahead of the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Elden Ring is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
