In the roguelike Elden Ring Nightreign, you are dropped onto a map with many enemies to battle. To fight through all three days successfully and vanquish the Night Lords, you will want to visit as many sites as possible with weapons and upgrades.
One of the many places you can head to help you along your journey to repulse the Night is churches. These hold Elden Ring Nightreign items and give you some extra healing, and can sometimes even have NPCs to interact with.
The Biggest Differences Between Elden Ring and Nightreign
Nightrein offers a lot of changes from the original Elden Ring experience, but many of them make the game even more engaging.
Churches in Elden Ring Nightreign
Churches are open-air buildings that show up on the map as a spired building in gold. These ancient, ruined churches are mostly crumbled by the time you walk through them, so you can get in and out very quickly. These spaces can contain boxes with items in them, but the main reason to stop by will be at the little altar by the statue: if you interact with it, you will refill a Flask of Crimson Tears. This is the healing item you can drink, more commonly known as Estus Flask, as it is called in Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
If you press the menuing button while looking at the map, you will get to see Elden Ring Nightreign map markers of what things are present at the church; they can contain the Flask of the Crimson Tear icon and also a Merchant icon if an NPC selling goods is also present. Since these are relatively peaceful places to stop and take a second in the hectic rounds, plus have the chance for a merchant, a refill of healing, and some random items as well, churches are a great place to swing by when you get the chance to.
Potential Locations of Churches in Elden Ring Nightreign
There are eleven sites where you can find churches in the randomized maps of both team and solo play in Nightreign. Each is marked on the map below with an X. Any given map has three or four different churches in these spots.
There are a couple of exceptions to this, however. If your Nightreign Shifting Earth event is active, there will be a mountain, and churches can no longer appear where the mountain is located. Another option is when the volcano's crater is on your map. This will have a guaranteed location for a church, and it will always be in the upper middle portion of the map where the crater is located, as pictured below.
