While many players are struggling to finish Elden Ring: Shadow of Erdtree, one streamer has defeated one of the expansion's toughest bosses, Messmer the Impaler, using a dance pad. Beating Elden Ring's Messmer in general is no easy task, especially since some players have found him to be as hard to beat as Malenia, Blade of Miquella.

It's only been days since the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, but the DLC has quickly brought millions of players into The Land of Shadow. The expansion not only brought gamers a new adventure, but also new tough bosses to take on. One of them, Messmer the Impaler, is giving users a headache because of his difficulty and the fact that he's a mandatory boss to complete the DLC's main story. Nevertheless, fans are having fun fighting Messmer, and some are even coming up with ingenious ways to defeat him. This is where the player who conquered the boss with an unconventional controller combination comes into play.

Streamer Luality defeated Messmer the Impaler using a Dance Dance Revolution dance pad. As seen in a gameplay clip she shared, the player used the dance pad for all movements except weapon arts and attacks, which were done using a motion controller with her left hand. For this impressive fight, Luality had no need for summons, just two healing flasks and a pair of Bandit's Curved Swords infused with blood.

Elden Ring Player Beats Messmer the Impaler with a Dance Pad

Needless to say, the streamer was thrilled after beating Messmer the Impaler on a dance pad. The clip even shows how she struggled not to step on her pet bunny, who kept interrupting the fight by approaching the dance pad. In the end, the streamer attributed her win to the rabbit, but it's evident her talent played a part too. Of course, this isn't the first time fans have used this method to play the game. In 2022, a player beat Elden Ring's Radagon with a dance pad as well.

Using unusual controllers to accomp[lish difficult tasks is a popular trend in the video game world, and with the hype for Shadow of Erdtree, it's no surprise fans are sharing their craziest items. One user completed Shadow of Erdtree with her mind, while another did it with a saxophone.

Despite its high difficulty, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is already a massive success, becoming the highest-rated DLC ever. The expansion is still new, too, so fans can expect more amazing clips of creative fights. Perhaps a future one will even feature a dance pad defeat of the DLC's final boss.
