Finding yet another way to make the Blade of Miquella easier, one lucky Elden Ring player stumbles upon an exploit in Malenia's second phase. Elden Ring has its fair share of difficult bosses, something that its pretty well known for. Understandably, some of these bosses can be too much for some players, leading to them looking for ways to cheese them, and thus acquiring that victory easier. Most of the exploits used are found by accident, like when one Elden Ring player won a fight against Mohg by doing practically nothing. This story follows a similar vein, where the exploit was just found by accident.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella is known to be one of the hardest boss fights in all of Elden Ring, despite being an optional one. What makes her so difficult are her quick, continuous slashes and fast movements slashing players to ribbons, and when the player finally manages to take her down, she rises again for a second phase that surprises some Elden Ring players, one where her attacks come with the added effect of Scarlet Rot. To defeat her is considered to be a great test of skill, so much so that some have taken to defeating her as fast as possible using as little as possible.

What this player has found may help make those trying to defeat her quickly. Posting to the Elden Ring subreddit, user ramenguy2002 uploaded a video showcasing a wild exploit that happened by complete accident. In the video, the player and their friend are closing in on the second phase when Malenia goes in for a grab just as the second phase begins. When the cutscene ends, the grab continues, but Malenia's health in the second phase has been cut down to barely anything - though it does regenerate due to hitting the player.

Despite this huge advantage given to the player, the player is still killed by the Scarlet Aeonia attack. While many in the comments are saying the player fumbled, the OP states that they didn't want to win because of a bug, saying that it wouldn't feel fair. While that is a fairly honorable reason, there are surely those Elden Ring players who enjoy defeating Malenia in 10 seconds that would prefer this bug to happen to them.

Others who have come across bugs with Malenia haven't been so lucky, like when Elden Ring players had to fend off her phantoms even after she died. Finding exploits like these are rare, and thus can be good to find out about so that the fight can be easier for those Elden Ring players who can manage to get grabbed during the second phase transition. For those that do, the once indomitable Malenia, Blade of Miquella may become much easier.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
