One Elden Ring player gets a nasty surprise after they take on a Giant Crayfish during their playthrough of FromSoftware’s open-world RPG. Elden Ring is not only known for its vast lore created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, but also an exceedingly high difficulty level.
FromSoftware’s latest game continues the long tradition of providing a robust combat system that tests the resolve of players looking for a challenge. Most enemies require gamers to have patience, good timing, and a bit of luck to progress through the mythical world. The journey is demanding but not impossible, as one proud parent recently showcased when their 8-year-old took down the toughest boss in Elden Ring.
In a video posted to Reddit a user by the name of ThaEarthquake showcases their experience against a Giant Crayfish while exploring the Liurnia Lakes. In the area between Rose Church and Boilprawn Shack, the player came across the solitary creature, and after a tough battle, the Crayfish spawned into a Grafted Scion without notice. Bandai Namco recently published how many times players have died in Elden Ring in the first year on sale, it looked like the Redditor could well fall foul to the development.
Luckily, ThaEarthquake took this devious twist in stride and easily dispatched the multi-armed menace, earning themselves a rare Larval Tear in the process. Most of the comments under the video were supportive of the player’s first attempt at the Giant Crayfish, and some were left surprised that Elden Ring was still producing surprises even after lengthy playtimes.
The same can’t be said for everyone looking at bringing down the toughest enemies Elden Ring has to offer. A humorous video of one player smack-talking the notoriously difficult Hoarah Loux during a live stream was shared to Reddit that showed a well-timed insult resulting in an instant in-game consequence. Just as the insult was thrown, Hoarah was seen hurling a barrage of attacks that annihilated the gamer’s character within a matter of seconds.
With videos like the one from ThaEarthquake still being widely shared, the Elden Ring community is still enjoying their time in the Lands Between. This bodes well for FromSoftware as they are currently developing the highly anticipated expansion. Despite only being announced in February 2022, reports have shown that the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been in development since April 2021, meaning players could soon be finding some new enemies to tackle.
Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
