Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC brings with it a host of new weapons, armor, talismans, and ashes of war to discover, opening the floodgates to build experimentation and theory-crafting.

One of these is Moonrithyll's Knight Sword, a new Colossal Sword that has the exact same design as the Troll Knight's Sword but plays differently because of its unique Ash of War. Here is everything players need to know about it.

Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree - How To Get Bloodfiend's Arm

The Bloodfiend's Arm is a colossal Strength and Arcane weapon. This guide details how to get it in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree.

Moonrithyll's Knight Sword Overview: Stat Requirements, Effects, & Skill

Greatsword embedded with a blue glintstone. The favored weapon of the steadfast Carian knight, Moonrithyll. Moonrithyll was the Twin Moon Knight's chamberlain. She was also a friend to the trolls, who served the royal family, and proudly wielded their weapons as she fought arm in arm with her gargantuan comrades.

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Moonrithyll's Knight Sword is a new weapon of the Colossal Sword weapon type. Scaling with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence puts the Moonrithyll Knight Sword in a difficult position. Intelligence-focused builds would much rather use the Moonlight Greatsword and mixed STR/INT or DEX/INT builds have better options.

The Moonrithyll's Knight Sword can be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones to +10, and cannot benefit from spell-based or consumable weapon buffs.

Moonrithyll's Knight Sword Weapon Skill: Tremendous Phalanx

The Moonrithyll's Knight Sword Ash of War is Tremendous Phalanx, which cannot be changed. It functions essentially the same as the Glintblade Phalanx, dealing magic as well as poise damage to anyone it manages to target. The casting animation is relatively short, making it possible to easily cast this mid-fight.

This weapon skill costs 16 FP to cast, and cannot be chained into a follow-up attack.

Skill of the enchanted troll knights. Creates a defensive arch of enormous magic glintblades overhead, which automatically attack nearby foes. Follow up with a strong attack to chain this skill into a lunging thrust.

Where To Find Moonrithyll's Knight Sword Location

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Moonrithyll's Knight Sword is a drop for defeating Moonrithyll, Carian Knight in Castle Ensis. From the Castle Ensis Checkpoint Site of Grace, kill the soldier holding the torch facing the drop next to the blocked castle gate. Drop down to the three dogs below and kill them as well. Go through the tunnel until you reach the waterfall. Hug the left cliffside and jump across the platforms to reach the water. Take the ladder on the left side to reach a room with two soldiers. Defeat the soldiers and activate the pulley system in the room across from this one to unlock the shortcut back to the Site of Grace.

Cross the bridge and turn right, defeating all enemies along the way. Pay special attention to the dog hiding on the left side, as he chases you forever unless you kill him. Ignore the Carian Sorcerers and take the stairs to the next part of the castle, where you'll find the Moonrithyll Knight guarding the entryway.
