- Players can expect vast new lands with challenging encounters in Shadow of the Erdtree when it releases on June 21.
Elden Ring has pulled the curtain back on a brand-new, horrifying-looking enemy that could be one of the bosses players fight in the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Elden Ring fans have been waiting over two years for the massively popular open world action-RPG to get DLC, and the wait is nearly at an end. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring will be out on June 21.
When the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC drops, Elden Ring players will have vast new lands to explore full of challenging enemy encounters. A number of these creatures, ranging from smaller foes to full-fledged bosses, were shown off in the DLC's reveal trailer. Even more Elden Ring DLC enemies have been revealed since Shadow of the Erdtree's reveal trailer, giving fans a good idea of what kind of enemies they can expect to encounter during their return trip to the Lands Between.
These enemies have been revealed on social media, with Elden Ring confirming a strange new creature that looks like something from FromSoftware's own Bloodborne. The latest beast revealed for the Elden Ring DLC is a robed creature with horns, a golden mask, and chakram-like blades. It's speculated that this creature is one of the bosses that players will encounter in the Elden Ring DLC, though it's entirely possible that it will be a smaller-scale encounter instead. Fans will find out when they are able to experience the DLC for themselves on June 21.
Elden Ring Reveals New DLC Enemy
One theory is that this newly-revealed Elden Ring DLC monster is the second phase of a fight spotted in the trailer. At one point during the Elden Ring DLC trailer, players see a monster wearing a lion's head. Twitter users pointed out how the robe and feet seem to match the creature in the image, suggesting they may be one and the same. The Elden Ring base game featured a handful of memorable two-phase bosses, and so it stands to reason that the same would be true of the DLC as well.
But again, that's just a theory, and fans will likely have to wait until June 21 to find out more. That being said, there is a chance that more info on the Elden Ring DLC could come a bit earlier than expected. Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has been confirmed as one of the 55+ companies for this year's Summer Game Fest. Elden Ring was prominently featured at a previous Summer Game Fest, and so it wouldn't come as a shock if the DLC were to make an appearance at this year's SGF on June 7.
