Sometimes, a FromSoftware Soulsborne title will feature a "maiden" of sorts to facilitate leveling up in the game world. This was the Maiden in Black in Demon's Souls, the Doll in Bloodborne, and Melina in Elden Ring. Crossovers and comparisons between Elden Ring and games like Bloodborne are going to happen due to the sheer popularity of FromSoftware's Souls catalog, and similar details like the Doll and Melina (especially as they are not in every game) are going to be picked up by fans.

Redditor girl_snap_out_of_it sought to design Bloodborne's doll as an Elden Ring character, complete with an analysis of fashion in The Lands Between. It should be noted that the Redditor is openly no expert on the matter, but still, they wrote up an interesting breakdown of the influences of catholicism and Middle Ages fashion on The Lands Between, also exploring the divide between "realistic" and "fantasy" fashion here. They weaved these elements into their design, and the end result can be seen below.

With these influences in mind, girl_snap_out_of_it also wrote up a little backstory for the Doll as if she did fully exist in The Lands Between. The Redditor believes that something like the Doll could only be made in Leyndell, which is why the general aesthetic of the Leyndell knights can be seen in the Doll's cloak and dress. There are also Celtic details associated with the Erdtree worked into the design, because of her connection there. The doll maintains its facial details and the knotted puppet hands, but despite being in expensive clothes, some of the outfit is old, worn, and roped together.

The backstory explains that she would have been a maiden of sorts, even if she could not use the power of Finger Maidens, and so she instead offered comfort and aid. It seems the Doll would have been tied to the Golden Order, in this interpretation, if as an unwitting enabler of its plots. Overall, it's a pretty fitting backstory, a spot-on aesthetic and design, and an otherwise impressive piece of Elden Ring fan art.
