Despite being out for just a few months, Elden Ring has gained a massive amount of popularity within the gaming community. With its large, sweeping landscapes, wonderfully creative worldbuilding, and airtight gameplay mechanics, Elden Ring certainly has a lot to offer its player base. However, Elden Ring has also extended itself to other form factors, the most recent of which being more culinary in nature.
Fans of Elden Ring have found a plethora of interesting ways to express their adulation for the game. Outside the usual suspects, such as fan art, cosplay, and gameplay clips, fans of Elden Ring have gotten extremely creative in terms of fan content, with one player's daughter going so far as to make a custom Elden Ring themed birthday card. Now, instead of a card, another fan actually received an Elden Ring themed birthday cake.
Over on Reddit, a user who goes by the name eze_9104 posted an image of a custom Elden Ring themed birthday cake that their wife bought them. The cake itself is jet black, with the main knight seen on the box art of Elden Ring featured prominently on the centerpiece of the cake, with the great runes in the background. In addition, a sword is plunged through the top of the cake.
The amount of detail presented within the cake is absolutely staggering. Considering that the user specifically said their wife bought the cake, it's likely that this cake was purchased from a bake shop that specializes in themed cakes. There have been other similar Elden Ring themed birthday cakes shared online, but this one seems to be made by actual professionals.
It's amazing how much attention Elden Ring has garnered within such a short timeframe. While Elden Ring managed to generate a lot of excitement in the years leading up to its release, which is likely owed to the reputation that FromSoftware has cultivated over the last decade, the finished product has so far managed to live up to the expectations of many in the gaming community.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Elden Ring going forward. Right now, no DLC for Elden Ring has been confirmed, but given FromSoftware's previous track record with DLC, it's likely that Elden Ring will receive some additional content at some point. It is important to note that it's only been three months since Elden Ring officially launched, so any bonus content will likely take a long time to develop.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
