Summary

- Curved swords have fast attack speeds, long combos, and are great for dual wielding & status effects.
- Nox Flowing Sword, Magma Blade, and Bandit's Curved Sword offer unique benefits and scaling for different stages.
Elden Ring has a multitude of weapons types, ranging from cannons and crossbows, to backhand blades and colossal hammers. Choosing the right weapon for one's particular playstyle is important in any playthrough. The weapon the player chooses will dictate their build, and the game can be much harder if the Tarnished goes in with a bad build.
Curved swords don't weigh too much, but can dish out a good amount of damage for their weight class. They have a fast attack speed and do long combos, making them good for builds focused around dealing multiple hits and building up status effects. Because of their fast attack speed, they're good for dual wielding as well.

6 Nox Flowing Sword
Great Early Game Option That Ignores Shields
Nox Flowing Sword is a good early game weapon that players can pick up from the boss fight in Selia, Town of Sorcery after solving the puzzle of the town. It has good damage, doesn't require the player to invest a lot of points to wield it, scales primarily with DEX, and can be upgraded using Somber Smithing stones. All these factors combine to make it a great choice for the early game.
The weapon's skill, Flowing Form, does some stance damage and transforms the weapon into a liquid-like substance that the player sweeps in front of them like a whip. It's a great skill for catching enemy players off-guard and cannot be easily dodged, making it a great weapon for PvP. It's a good weapon for the early game, but falls off in the late stages because it primarily scales with a single stat, reducing its overall damage potential.

5 Magma Blade
Mid-Game Sword That's Great For High Levels
The
Magma Blade is a great curved sword for dealing fire damage. Unfortunately, the Magma Blade can only be found at Volcano Manor, dropping from certain Man-Serpents at the location that wield it. It has two main stat dependencies, DEX and FAI, giving it good damage at higher levels. It's a somber weapon and comes with the Magma Shower skill.
If players are looking for a weapon that can do magma damage but don't want to use the
Magma Wyrm's Scalesword, then this is the weapon for them. It is only accessible in the mid-to-late game, but remains a viable option even in NG+, making it worth the wait.

20 Elden Ring Mods That Make The Game Easier
For those craving more accessibility, these Elden Ring mods can make the game considerably easier for Tarnished who just want to enjoy the ride.
4 Bandit's Curved Sword
Longest Range Curved Sword With Highest Attack Rating
The best of the basic curved swords,
Bandit's Curved Sword is an easy-to-obtain weapon that doesn't have a lot of stat requirements and hits like a truck without asking the player for too big of an investment. It is a simple smithing stone weapon that players can obtain as a drop from Skeletal Bandits in Limgrave and Altus Plateau, and can be infused with Ashes of War.
This weapon has the highest attack rating out of all the curved swords, and can easily be farmed twice for a dual-wielding build. It has decent stat build-up with the right infusions, though it does weigh 5.0, making it fairly heavy compared to other curved swords.

3 Falx
Incredible Weapon Skill for Chasing Enemies Down
One of the few paired curved swords,
Falx is the perfect weapon in its category. It is a somber weapon that can be obtained by completing Hornsent's questline in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, making it a fairly late-game weapon. However, it is good even at such high levels.
The weapon primarily scales with DEX, and has a (55) Bleed build up that lends itself well to its skill: Revenger's Blade. When the skill is activated, the Tarnished runs forward, closing the distance at an astonishing rate, and does a slash with both swords. If the player follows up the skill with a heavy attack, they will unleash a barrage of attacks that can incur hemorrhage on an opponent if it connects completely.

Elden Ring: The Best Colossal Weapons, Ranked
Colossal weapons are one way to handle the god-like enemies of Elden Ring, but which of the best are worth getting?
2 Wing of Astel
High Damage Skill and High Magic Damage
A unique somber weapon that can be found in the Uhl Palace Ruins, the
Wing of Astel is a late game weapon that has a powerful moveset that other weapons of its class cannot compete with. It scales with DEX and INT, has fairly high requirements, and deals both physical and magic damage with each hit.
The strong attack from the Wing of Astel launches a short range projectile, two if charged, that deal exclusively magic damage. Similarly, its weapon skill, Nebula, is one of the most powerful in the game, spreading a cloud of stars that bursts after a short delay in front of the player. Both these attacks scale exclusively off of INT, while the weapon attack scales almost equally from DEX and INT.

1 Scavenger's Curved Sword
Long Range With Good Bleed Build Up
The
Scavenger's Curved Sword is one of the best bleed weapons in Elden Ring, and can be powerstanced with itself. However, players can only obtain this weapon at Mt. Gelmir from a corpse near the first Site of Grace in the region. This means it is only possible get one in a single playthrough.
This sword is a non-unique weapon, meaning it can be upgraded with smithing stones and can be infused with Ashes of War. Since it has an innate bleed build up, it can be used to inflict dual status effects, though supplementing the bleed will let the player use it to its full potential.
