Elden Ring features a wide range of craftable items, many of which provide players with incredibly useful benefits. As you progress through the game, you will begin to find Elden Ring's primary method of learning crafting recipes: cookbooks. These collectibles unlock at least one recipe, and sometimes far more. Many of these cookbooks are spread out over the course of the game, and others deal with specific locations. This guide will focus on leading players to all seven Missionary's Cookbooks in Elden Ring.
The second Missionary's Cookbook is sold by
Patches (NPC)
for 800 Runes. He can be found in various locations throughout the course of Elden Ring, but you will first encounter him in
Murkwater Cave. Per tradition, Patches will try to attack you in a less-than-honorable manner. If you kill him, he drops
Patches Bell Bearing, which can be taken to the
Twin Maiden Husks
at the
Roundtable Hold. It is best to avoid killing Patches during your first playthrough, as he makes it possible to get the
Bull-Goat Set
late in the game.
The third Missionary's Cookbook is found on a dead body at the
Smoldering Church
in Caelid. This church is found right at the northern border between Limgrave and Caelid, slightly northeast of Summonwater Village. As you enter the church, look to the right of the site of grace. You'll see two dead bodies, each with glowing items. One of the bodies has

The fourth Missionary's Cookbook is found in the
Minor Erdtree Church, just outside Leyndell in the Altus Plateau. If you look at the wall that surrounds the city in a half-circle, the church can be found just outside the southwestern end of the wall. As you enter the church, look for an item on the ground in front of a large jar. It will be on the left as you head toward the site of grace.
The fifth Missionary's Cookbook is found in the
Siofra Aqueduct, in the area just before the
Valiant Gargoyle & Valiant Gargoyle (Twinblade). There are two marble domes with a
Crucible Knight
patrolling back and forth. The cookbook is in the chamber on the western side. The easiest way to reach this section is through the Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs site of grace. You'll want to start at the Ancestral Woods site of grace in Nokron, Eternal City. Look for the small square with several enemies chanting around a carcass, then head beyond them to find several Spirit Jellyfish. Follow the Jellyfish to a secret path that leads to Siofra Aqueduct.
The sixth Missionary's Cookbook is found in the
Volcano Manor
area, specifically along the path after the Temple of Eligy. You will encounter an Abductor Virgin after climbing up some rock. Right next to the enemy is a stone window you must walk through. Inside, you'll notice the floor is broken, with a large drop on one side. Head to the far end of the broken floor to find a ladder that will take you down. Continue down to the lowest level to find a dead body in a cell. The cell requires no key, and contains Missionary's Cookbook 6.
The final Missionary's Cookbook is found at the Hermit Merchant in the Mountaintops of the Giants. This specific merchant is found on the ledge just above the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins site of grace. However, to reach him, you must head northeast and follow the bridges you can see on the map. You can clearly see the route you must take, see the images for the exact location. It is sold for 7500 Runes.
