What Are Skill Points in Road To Glory?

Player ratings are a staple in any major sports game, from UFC and NBA to NFL and NHL, and will be the same case in Madden 25, and is no different in EA Sports College Football, as every player is given a rating that reflects their skills. In Road To Glory mode, you will pick your starting rating and work towards improving it, alongside building your coach's trust, which is where Skill Points come into play.

Skill Points are somewhat of a currency that players can earn and spend to upgrade their athlete in different facets of their game. These facets will depend on the position you are playing, but will include attributes such as elusiveness, strength, and accuracy. The higher the skill level, the more Skill Points you will need to spend to upgrade.

How To Get Skill Points in Road To Glory

As the name might suggest, Skill Points are best acquired by showcasing your skills in the position you play in, whether that be Quarterback, Running Back, Tight End, or Wide Receiver. There are two primary ways that Skill Points can be acquired:

  • By spending Energy on Training each week. This can be done in the Weekly Agenda section of the Road To Glory hub. It’s worth noting, however, that any points you spend on training can’t be used for other areas that are not as easily accessible in-game, such as Endorsements or Leadership.
  • By completing milestones during games. These milestones include reaching another first down, performing successful throws or catches, and scoring touchdowns. Each positive feat you achieve in a game will contribute to your total XP, which you will need to earn to get Skill Points.

Naturally, the journey that you choose in Road To Glory mode will determine how accessible these opportunities are. You will find that progression as an Underdog is far slower, as you are reliant on the Weekly Agenda Training more, since you are given little to no opportunities to showcase your skills on the field. Elite, on the other hand, will have you leveling up much faster, as you’ll likely be making the starting squad within the first couple of weeks, if not immediately.
